The adopted son of Harry and Debbie Wilson has a strong bond with his sister, Annie, and they support each other as best they can. Dixon was considered a smart bad boy with behavioral issues, fueled by being the only African-American in an all-white family - even though he's accepted and supported by everyone. At his school in Kansas, he was a star Lacrosse player and well respected.
But he soon discovers that the notable lacrosse team at West Beverly Hills High is a completely different prospect - with social standing and popularity being just as important as talent and ability. He soon has to deal with a variety of jealous team-mates who will stop at nothing to sabotage his progress - plus he has to deal with his sister Annie getting closer to the team's star player Ethan Ward. After helping her with a complicated school theatrical production, he soon develops a crush on his sister's best friend, Silver, and their relationship develops.
