Kelly and Silver are surprised when Donna shows up at their door, straight off a plane from Japan, where she is now a very succesful fashion designer. Annie and Dixon lie to their parents, who think they are heading to their Grandmother's and decide to spend their spring break on a road trip to visit someone from Dixon's past, inspired by recent events with Silver. Silver, meanwhile, resents being a practicl prisoner in her own home. Ethan decides to step out of his bubble and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
Naomi joins the Habitat build after learning that Liam is also attending, but is clearly out of her comfort zone. While Kelly and Donna are dining on sushi, Donna announces some surprising news and tehn Diablo Cody, guest starring as herself, convinces Donna to design her a dress for a red carpet event.
