Annie and Ethan are paired up to take care of a baby as part of a class project and the experience causes them to see each other in a new light. Silver and Dixon continue to get closer and during her half-birthday party where she watches scary movies at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, she opens him up to an entirely new experience in public.
Harry and Debbie are forced to deal with his past when Tracy informs Harry that she hired a private investigator to search for their son, who was given up for adoption many years ago.
Naomi is desperate to intervene with Adrianna's downward drug spiral but regrets making one last-minute decision. Adrianna plans to come forward and clear Naomi's name, but ends up overdosing while Naomi leaves a hateful voice message on her phone. Ryan is dealing with Kelly's departure and decides to try online dating in an effort to hide his true feelings about her absence. While new 'student' Kimberly McIntyre, revealed to be an undercover cop, shakes things up at West Beverly High and 'flirts' with him.
