We don't know whether this is true, but trade magazine Variety are reporting Skins may be moving across to the US!

Could a US Skins work? And would the US cast be ridiculously photogenic with perfect teeth? We can't imagine an American Sid.

    Skins is on my telly right now, on BBC America at 12:30 in the afternoon... I don't think an Americanized Skins would work, we're (saying we're to show that I'm in America) such prudes over here that it wouldn't have the same.... something or whats it. Now, of course, it does depend on the network I suppose. Can't see Skins on the CW or MTV... but I could see it on HBO... or showtime or something like that. Did you know ABC is doing an American Life on Mars? Kind of silly isn't it?

    Let me start out by saying as an American, I HATE IT when U.S. networks try to re-work Brit shows. It rarely works - the exception being 'The Office" (at first I wasn't so sure but it has come into its own. Still, the original is the best!). There is no way I see an American version working - we already have something along the same 'idea' but starring rich, beautiful, "ridiculously photogenic with perfect teeth" Manhattanites - "Gossip Girl". It is just not real!!! That being said, BBCA is showing Skins now on Sundays. They have bits and pieces of it subtitled! Hey, after watching Shameless, Skins is not so hard to understand. Anyway, love the show, love Brit T.V. and Sid is my fav. Skins kid!

    If it is it would be to American (there's nothing wrong with that) but let the british nation have their proud too and let them keep skins. That's just one of the many reasons it's good! I love skins... xx

    I totally agree with most that posts, that an American version would be weak, but if the actual show came to the US that would be great. We can only hope!!!!!!!!!
