My time at Big Brother has been brilliant – its been great to see behind the scenes at BB HQ, and sitting in the hijack chair was really exciting and it’s something not a lot of people have done.

I think the housemates were a bit shocked, at first, to hear a member of the public – they were like “What’s going on?” – but once the task started they really enjoyed it.

Emilia won the task, mainly because of her immortal line “You can’t have one bum cheek higher than the other”. That was award winning.

I was in the camera runs when the housemates woke up, and being there for the whole morning meant that I really felt part of it. Jeremy had morning hair and was the one that needed to freshen up the most. Anthony was really funny and was up for some of the jokes we had together in the diary room. Jon was a bit negative in the house this morning, which lowered my opinion of him a bit. In the end, the best person will win.

Being Big Brother has been a great experience.

Hijacking was the weirdest thing ever. I remember from when I was in the house that the tasks were the thing I enjoyed the most, getting dressed up, doing stupid things and making an idiot of myself!

It’s been so surreal turning the tables and setting them a task and inviting them to the diary room and talking to them. It was wicked though, a really good thing!

The task I set them was to dress and behave like each other. What I loved about it was the underlying slagging off between them all. Especially Anthony and Jeremy. You could see under their laughs that they were secretly getting p****d off with each other.

When I was in Big Brother we were all a little naive and unsure about what to expect. At that point, in terms of Big Brother, it was really new. The nine weeks in the house were the best time in my life ever. We had tears and tantrums. The last few days were really nerve racking. I didn’t have a clue what had been going on in the outside world. We weren’t really obsessed with how the public would see us.

Nowadays people in the house obsess about it so much it seems to affect their behaviour whilst they are in there. Everyone is so worried about how they will be perceived. I heard Anthony say ‘I hope Kate doesn’t think that something went on with me and Calista’ and I thought ‘Why are you thinking so much? Just have a good time and stop worrying!’

It is nice though that there are people in the house that have their heads screwed on.

They all seem to be very down to earth.

It's better to be a magnificent failure

My contribution here is as its title. It’s a hijack.

Basically my opening sequence to this particular performance by me is to hijack it by taking those kids and transforming them and changing their identity in a series of action sequences that starts with a maze, a labyrinth which they create out of cardboard. Then they will strip off.

You will hear me being eloquent in talking to those kids and explaining what they are doing. I will explain that they are leaving a very ordinary and dull world, going into hopefully something a bit more special.

They are going to go through a series of ordeals. It’s about them creating their own manifesto of how they might think of changing the culture themselves. After two days of suffering me, my anecdotes and my long shaggy tales, there’s no way anybody needs to be successful. They will hear my voice until they are bored to tears.

The key to all of this is to make them understand that it’s probably far better to be a magnificent failure than a simple benign success. That’s it really.

The tasks will be interesting. I will try to get them performing naked across the floor covered in paint. A blue boy rubbing up against a yellow girl! They seem to be 21st century prudes so they most probably won’t do it, but you never know. If not, at least parts of their bodies will turn green so it’s a marriage of sorts.

We’ll take it from there.

 Mel and Nic leave

Our time in the house was great. It was the best time ever. We did expect it to be fun but not as fun as that. We weren’t expecting to actually go into the house but as soon as we were told we were allowed we took advantage!

Once we were in there we decided to let John off as he’s actually quite lovely. It’s fine if people think our music is s**t, but we really don’t think John thinks that.

Overall the housemate’s opinion of us whilst we were in there was positive. We hope it remains positive now we have left.

Everything from start to finish was amazing. We were glad to be able to get them some luxuries like lip gloss, tea and chilli sauce.

We would do this every day if we could, hijacking of course. Not be a celebrity housemate. No way!

We've decided to hijack the Big Brother house today because we are just such massive fans of the show.

We don’t know what sort of Big Brothers we're going to be yet. We were going to save John and be really nice to him because he was completely dissed for the dating game. But he just said we were rubbish. Each to their own, but when we are on the show we are the only ones allowed to say we’re rubbish, not him. He may have burnt a bridge!

The closer it gets to us taking over the more nervous we are getting.

There are a lot of buttons to press but there are four hands between us so it should all be ok. We’re good with each other. I like to listen and enjoy Mel, and she’s the same with me, so we won’t take over from each other in the booth.

Our task today is going to be very intense, and we are testing them on their intellect. We expect them to be dumbfounded by it. It’s quite a serious task compared to the other ones they have been given.

Hopefully we will do a good job as Big Brother. We have a good sense of humour, and we’re fans so we want to be liked. We don’t to be dirty and disgusting, we can be but we’ll try not to be!

Love Mel & Nic x

I intend to try and strip away all vestiges of cool from these talented people who will hopefully all be made to look like fools and see what an ego-free house does.

I think John looks like a top chap and I think he has probably got a large inner nerd. I’m going to try and squeeze that out of him. I think Jeremy has probably got nerdish tendencies as well and I’m looking forward to speaking to him.

They’re all going to have to be nerds. It’s a hobbies day... what would traditionally be seen as nerdy hobbies... bird watching, battle re-enactments and model building.

I hope that they have a good time. Although these things that I’m going to make them do are seen as boring, I hope they don’t have a boring day. I hope they at least have a laugh. I don’t want to be a boring hijacker!

All you need is love...

Mat says:

Today we are going to be the nicest Big Brother ever. It became clear, after our countdown message played into the House at Jade's eviction, that we had upset some of the housemates. We decided that we would go in there and try and make amends. We haven't really felt that the House has been hijacked in the truest sense of the word, so we felt that we wanted to go in there and take over. Our intentions are to go in there and win forgiveness for what we said about Jade. We aren't trying to hoodwink anyone, there is no hidden agenda.

We are just going to go in and attempt to have fun with them without sending anyone up.

James says:

Our motivation today is really to make amends for offending the Housemates with the countdown message. I think we underestimated how intense it is in there for them. We just want them to know that we think they are great - we really do.

I think the Housemates are quite sensitive people because they are used to being at the top of their game - within their worlds they are pretty important people.

We have no agenda, we aren't going to be lovely and then turn around sniggering. As much as some people might suggest we are not nice - we are. It's always better to be positive than to not be. We are not being two-faced in any way.

I'm going to mend Jon's bruised heart - it's going to be nice for him to have a big fella in there with him, rather than those ripped hunks. Especially when three girls from Hollyoaks come in and don't pick you for something.

We are taking quite a risk not to have the safety and security of that booth - we are really going to get amongst it and actually hijack the House, as opposed to setting a little task. We are in there all day. We are going to be there when they wake up - it's going to be interesting telly.

Jenny, Claire and Gemma

Jennifer Metcalfe, Claire Cooper and Gemma Merna, aka Hollyoaks' McQueen sisters, talk to us about their alter-egos and how they're going to hot up the housemates...

Claire – Ha ha. I think we’re doing Big Brother because we’re girls and we’ll bring a bit of glamour! Haven’t they had men mostly so far?

Gemma – Yes. I think that as the McQueen sisters we’ll be quite good for the house, to get the boys all riled up!

Jenny – I am nothing like my character Mercedes. If I were playing Mercedes I  think I would whip them all up into shape but I’m not. I’m Jenny today, so that’s what I’m going to find difficult! But I’m gonna try. Dominatrix!!!

Claire – Ooooooooh!

Gemma – My character is soft and lovely and really nice and I’m not like that. I’m probably the other way so I’ll be a bit fiery and a bit cheeky. I’ll see what I can do today.

Claire – I’m also the opposite of my character. I’m not aggressive or at least I don’t think I am. So I’ll try and be as nice as pie today and be myself.

Claire – I think there'll be a bit of flirting. Well not me personally…  a bit of friendly banter... cheeky banter.

Jenny – Yeah we’re just gonna go in there and I think to start off with we might be going by the script a bit as we’re a bit nervous, but by the end we’ll hopefully get them doing loads of stupid stuff. Hopefully our adventurous minds will get to work

Gemma – We are very close friends anyway. We do have a giggle so I think we might take it a little too far...

All – We think Anthony is quite nice…

Jenny – Anthony’s a bit of beef but these two can’t really say that cos they’re in relationships, so I think most of the flirting will be left up to me today.

Anthony in a thong!

Hi,

I love being Big Brother!

I think a lot of people will be pleased that I've managed to get Anthony in a thong. I was a bit worried for him that he was going to go out there with just the see-through ones on, which would have been terrible. But luckily he saw sense and put some on top. I think a lot of my listeners will be very pleased - so if I’ve achieved anything today, I’ve achieved that.

I picked on Jay for today’s wind-up task because I think he’s quite easily irritated and you can read every expression on his face.

As a hijacker, I might not be as funny as Chris Moyles but I got more people naked, so there!
