Ian Wright

Hello!

I am a big fan of Big Brother, and I never thought there would be an opportunity be Big Brother. When it came up and they said to do it I said yeah, I like the sound of that.

I'm not one of those who acts too cool to watch Big Brother. I do like it, it's one of those things. I just love it.

I am most looking forward to being the voice of Big Brother. Kinda having control, although I am not a control freak but I do like the fact that I've got control, when I speak they have to do stuff!

I'm not going to be a mean hijacker, I am going to deal with them as I would deal with that sort of age group if I met them on the street. I will speak to them nicely and ask them to do stuff. They are in a situation at the end of the day where they have to do it. I don't want to be mean about it because I am just not like that, I am not mean in real life. I am not going to boss them about, maybe have a chat with a few and see how it goes.

I’ve never hijacked anything before, I’ve gatecrashed parties when I was younger but this is a whole different sort of thing.

Let’s see how it goes!

I'll update you all soon

The latest from Big Brother…

Here's what I am enjoying so far. These housemates. They are making their own entertainment. No-one's lounged about in bed (so no alarms needed yet) and they are being respectful of each other with no-one trying to hog the limelight. Instead they are having thoughtful discussions about the nature of celebrity and fame. And loads of other things too. In fact they are everything we thought they all were when we went looking for them: genuinely creative and talented people. They are a joy to watch. Of course I might not be saying that in a couple of days.

Matt Lucas loved being BB, as you can see from his final blog. He did some brilliant diary rooms where he asked and said things that Big Brother never would. We've also been going through Ian Wright's ideas for his Hijack today (which you'll see in Sunday night's show). It involves binoculars. It's extremely funny. Plus Alan Cumming has arrived from LA – he'll be in on Sunday bringing with him a very Hollywood style task.

There seems to be a generally positive response to the programme from viewers and, shock of shocks, lots people who post on the forums even like it! On the forums where, generally, never a positive word is spoken. About anything. In the world. Ever.
Basically, for us, Celebrity Hijack is a massive experiment with the Big Brother format – we are playing with it, trying out new things to see if they work and we thank all the people who watch who are embracing this too.

Yours Bigly,
Big Brother.

Me again…

During my time as a Hijacker I became a 'deskbot'. The weird thing is you become oddly attached to the housemates in a way that takes you by suprise which is strange, if something upsets them then you feel upset and if they're happy you feel happy and its really weird as I expected to feel a lot more distant from the whole process but actually you do become a lot more emotionally attached than I thought you would. It's not going to be easy for the other hijackers to stay distant and they will have a lot more invested in the people in the house than they might expect.

I think this group are a lot warmer and more likable than the usual housemates. I might be kidding myself, but I sense that you route for them more than you do usually. It might be because they are a bit younger and because most of them genuinely seem to have a talent that a lot of people at home don't have so you're not looking at them wondering why the hell they are on TV. When you see what Amelia and Victor do, and the number of hours a day they have to dedicate to their craft, when you hear Calista sing and think that's as good as anything I've heard Mika do this year then you realise that actually these are very promising people.

Actually, weirdly I think some of them will go on to be so big that you'll forget they were ever in this show because their potential on screen is really great.

Someone who will come into their own in the next few days is Latoya. I don't think she has had that much screen time yet and I would like to follow her journey. She's a little quieter than some of the other housemates but she obviously has a lot of ability and is a lot of fun.

Would I do it again? Yes, in fact I would most probably pay you!

The latest from Big Brother....

First of all time to correct the daily dose of information, which mostly comes from the Daily Star. Honestly, please take everything they say with a massive pinch of salt. So - Jade Goody is not going into the Celebrity Hijack House and Dermot O’Leary doesn’t think the show is rubbish – he thinks it’s really good. He told me so.
What is true (as this is written at 9.45 on Day 2) is that Matt Lucas is back on site after his brilliant stint as Big Brother during the launch show. I can confirm that Matt Lucas is a very funny man both on and off screen. We’ve gone through his plans for the day and it’s going to involve a very special way of baking a cake, some kind of talent showcase and, if he has time, a rather strange task which is all about what the housemates can or can’t say.

I am so excited!

Matt Lucas

Hi, I'm Matt…

I'm very excited to be the first celebrity to hijack the Big Brother House.

I want to be a sort of nice Big Brother, a sort of affectionate Big Brother because I think Big Brother in the past has had a mean streak, but since I've got here, I think the power might be going to my head and I'm a little bit worried now. It's also nice to have any job where you're sitting down. That's quite underrated.

I was asked what kind of evil things I'd do to the housemates - I might confiscate all toffee. I did want to do a thing where I could turn the house upside down at will but it wasn't possible to do that.

This series has got a few weeks to run so I don't want to be too crazy. At one point I wanted to send fifty dogs into the house but I heard that the RSPCA generally disapproved of that sort of thing. So I said what about thirty dogs? They said no and I said, you know, ten dogs? Five? And we went down and down - one dog? So I said, what about half a dog? They said NO… So just generally I'm going to try and be a sensible Big Brother.

I hope people's lasting memory of me as a Celebrity Hijacker is that I am shorter than they thought in real life. Or perhaps "he was the first…he wasn't the best; he was just the first."
