Happy birthday to us

E4.com is one year old today. What we were doing launching a website less than a week before Christmas and almost eight years after the E4 TV channel, I'll never quite work out.

But anyway, one year on and we thought we might be showing our age a little so we decided to tart the site up a bit. Truth is, we've learnt a lot about what you lot like and don't like, so have re-jigged things to make it easier for you to find stuff.

First off, we've changed our navigation. We realised that a lot of you were clicking 'Watch' expecting to find TV show sites (it was actually where we kept our video clips), so we've put all our programme sites in a section called 'TV Shows' and renamed 'Watch' to 'Video'. We also changed the order of the links, to really confuse you.

New nav! W00t!
We ditched our old video player in favour of a hot, new widescreen one (yes, widescreen is HOT). Have a peek:

Oooh yeah, nice new Effy and Pandora video made exclusively for us.

We've also made some more subtle changes, like revamping the Video page so you can find the highest rated, most watched and latest videos. Our TV site navigation has also been improved, with arrows that you can click to expande and collapse parts of the site, which should help you find stuff quicker. See it in effect on the relaunched Skins site (seconds Skins plug in one blog post. Must stop).

That’s enough about us. Time to STFU and thank all you guys for visiting E4.com in our first year. Have a great Christmas.

Simon Bird as Will

The Inbetweeners is no longer a show about losers, after picking up two trophies at the British Comedy Awards on Saturday. The show beat The Kevin Bishop Show and No Heroics in the Best New British TV Comedy category. To show that he wasn't bitter, Kevin Bishop chucked the contents of his table at The Inbetweeners team as they collected their award - if you missed the moment, you can watch a clip on YouTube.

Simon Bird (who plays Will, pictured above) won Best Male Comedy Newcomer. Go team!

Sock, Sam, and Ben

Clench with excitement! Reaper is back! It's scheduled to start again in the States next March, and begins on E4 in April. There'll be 13 more episodes of mildly Satanic mirth.

Curiously, it'll be shown immediately after 90210 in the US, which starts its run on E4 in January. Which is, of course, exactly when we want to see pretty people striding topless through their sun-drenched lives.

We launched a new homepage today. E4.com is nearly a year old now, so we've spent the past few months watching what you click on (those creepy people with the binoculars, in the purple car outside your window? Yeah, that was us) and decided to re-jig things a little.

We've a new flashy, scrolling thing that will hopefully allow you to find programme websites easier. It looks like this (go to the homepage to play with it):

Homepage scroller thing

The video playlist at the top of the page has been replaced by some BIG images which link to our hottest stuff. Further down the page, as well as featuring our latest videos, we're also showing off our newest games (adding a new one every day remember, over on the Games website).

We're also revamping some other parts of e4.com, as well as introducing a widescreen video player in a few weeks time. Not long now before Skins returns with a brand new series and fresh looking website too. It's gonna be a good Christmas.
