Last night's debut episode of the second series of The Inbetweeners was the highest rated original commission on E4 this year. It beat BBC Two's Graham Norton Show by more than 50,000 viewers in the 10pm slot, as reported on the Guardian website. That'll learn him for defecting to the other side (and by that we mean from Channel 4 to the BBC).

If you were one of the 1 million or so people who watched it, we hope you enjoyed it!

See preview clips of next week's episode on The Inbetweeners site.

Effy in Skins

UPDATE 24/04/09: Vote closes on Saturday, 25 April.

On top of the heap of other awards our shows are up for, the second series of Skins has been nominated for the Audience Award at the forthcoming BAFTAs.

We're up against a load of old rubbish that's on other telly channels, but sadly it's very popular rubbish, like Coronation Street and The Apprentice. Do you really want to see the likes of Jack Duckworth beat our beloved Effy and Freddy? Course you don't!

Click here now and find out how to vote on the Skins blog. It only takes a minute and is free! Ta

Seavolution

E4 Games writer, Harry, and I went along to X48 Game Camp the other week, to watch students from all over the UK compete to make the best game on the theme, ‘evolution’. The students were split into 16 teams to devise, build and present their games within a two-day deadline.

Many of the groups didn’t sleep (but will thank the god of Red Bull for keeping them going), some of them fell out, some of them may never recover and are probably sitting, rocking in a chair right now. Thankfully, every team had a game to show for their game-making all-nighter.

A team from Huddersfield won, with their game Seavolution. It’s a bit like our Chopter, but with added SCIENCE.

All the games are available to download on the X48 website.

The event was sponsored by Channel 4 and Microsoft, organised by Pixel Lab and hosted at the University of Derby.
