Welcome to this week’s blog from the Hollyoaks music department.
This week’s Hollyoaks musical highlights:
‘Better Than Today’ by Kylie – another piece of pop perfection from the petite antipodean songstress. You can’t really go wrong with a bit of Kylie, especially when it accompanies some of our very own feisty females taking a stand against the trials and tribulations life has thrown at them in their own inimitable style.
‘Journey’ by Ian Britt – a beautiful track from a fantastic artist who we have been itching to get on the show for a while now. The warm tone of this track worked really well for the opening sequence where Cindy is struggling with her conflicted emotions towards Alistair & Gilly is upset about the news that Steph’s cancer is terminal and the impact it’s having on their relationship. Check out Ian’s Facebook page here:

On our stereo this week:
‘I Walk’ by Sufjan Stevens – we were pretty excited to get our ears around this new track, a sneak preview from the forthcoming ‘The Age of Adz’ album. An interestingly synthie offering, we’re intrigued to know if this heralds the shape of things to come from the previously predominant purveyor of all things acoustic.

Until then…
