Here at HO Towers we often get the urge to crack open a window and express our devoted love to the cast, preferably through the medium of song. Obviously this would be massively inappropriate, counter-productive and slightly awkward... so we refrain.
What we're trying to say here is that we ruddy love Myra McQueen.
How could anyone disagree? Myra's return to our screens this week has brought comedy gold back into our lives. We love her scepticism of Jono, Ricky and naughty nephew Bart. We love her scathing remarks and her complete inability to sniff out a school-bunk. We even love her 'I carried a watermelon' tee.
We love her relentless double standards (i.e. being a devoted Christian - who can forget that 'Jesus is my homeboy' hoody - while covering up for her murdering niece Theresa or adulterous daughter Mercedes. Oops.)
Her flirty antics with wide-boy Dirk are nothing less than brilliant, and the fact she is the Queen of the McQueen clan... well, enough said. Mediator of squabbling kids, harbourer of stray relatives, she is the rock which grounds the feral McQueen family through turmoils and tragedies galore. Serious kudos, Mamma McQueen.
We love her fiesty, no-nonsense nature. With her trademark gold chains and sovereigns, we'd put our money on Myra over Mr T any day.
"You! I know you’re up to some'ing. And don’t think you’re going to get away with it. 'Cause you won’t!"
