Episode 8 and series 5 chatter

So that was ep 8 - and that, ladies and gents was Skins 5. Plenty of love knocking about tonight... Rich & Grace = super-cute. And there are so many new questions for Skins 6: is it really over for Liv and Matty? What's the story with Matty & Franky? And MINKY?!?

Big shout out to Dog is Dead btw - great band featured in tongiht's ep.

Questions aside... here are my favourite bits of Skins 5 presented to you in the form of meaningless categories, let me know if you agree (you probably won't, but let us know what your best bits were):

Best hook-ups:
1) Rich and Grace (natch)
2) Liv and Rider
3) Alo and his sock and/or that blow-up doll

Best freak-outs:
1) Nick with the golf club
2) Franky with her gun (!?!)
3) Mini at her party

Best unlikely catchphrases:
1) "I'm metal." Rich (mainly because it sounds like he says "I'm mental.")
2) "You can totally see your vag through that." Liv
3) "Ultrawank." Alo

Best surprise cameo:
1) All of Napalm Death
2) Kelly Brook
3) Blood as Grace's dad

... and that's that! Thanks for all your comments, don't forget us over here on e4.com/skins, we're still here making pretty internet things. HEY, it's been a riot.

Thom

PS I leave you with a pic of Alo being triumphant. It feels right.

Awwwww, Grace and Rich, love's young dream, eh? And it's really not long until their wedding day (to which you are cordially invited, of course).

So what are you going to get them? You can't turn up without a wedding present, after all! The Mastodon back catalogue? A signed picture of Darcey Bussell? Or, you know, something they'd both like?

We want your ideas in the comments below, please.

Hey hey now, another week, another pretty massive family shock... you might have thought Alo was skrewed with that mum of his. Imagine if your dad was Blood?!? Poor Gracie.

Surprise surprise, he doesn't approve of Rich. And at points, neither did Grace. Hate seeing our fairytale couple argue. But was Rich right? Is Grace stuck in a world of princesses and castles rather than the very real earth on which Mr Hardbeck lives (if you've read her story, you'd prolly say the former).

Anyway, Rich's solution to his first ever barney with Grace? Propose. Yeah, simple! Good idea? Bad idea? Your thoughts...

And the Liv/Matty, Matty/Franky, Franky/Liv thing is a whole different steaming pile of dramas. Who should end up with who?

As ever, get commenting below you lovely, lovely lot. I'll leave you with a Blood family portrait. Beautiful.

Ok writers, we asked for your scripts, you sent them to us, we read them, we gasped (the overall quality was, as ever, amazing), we read them again, and now we have some winners!

Let's cut to the chase: there were two scripts this year that just couldn't be separated - they're both winners. The joint winners are:

Joe Hampson (21) for his script Two Birds, One Stone and Sophie Boyce (18)  for her script The Girl Who Ate the Crocodile.

Toby and Neil, the series 6 producers, had this to say about the winning scripts:

Two Birds, One Stone
"A very funny, original and slightly bonkers script about two friends, a strange little girl and one very robust & well-educated crow."

The Girl Who Ate the Crocodile
"An engaging and mature piece that perfectly captures the relationship between a teenage girl and her mother’s boyfriend in the 1960s."

We also had three very close runners-up this year too - here they are (in no order at all) with what Toby and Neil thought of them:

Thomas Eghator (16) – The Youth & Hubba-Bubba Conspiracy
"A well-written and often hilarious story jam-packed with snappy dialogue, memorable characters and real attitude."

Harry Sherriff (22) – Nick Rice’s Early Life Crisis
"A very accomplished and honest comedy about the choices forced upon teenagers by the adult world. This is disciplined writing – emotionally honest and funny throughout."

Arabella Hoy (19) – The Pier
"Set in Brighton and based around a group of students, this is a well realized piece with empathetically drawn characters, a strong visual instinct and authentic dialogue."

So, well done everyone, thanks to everyone that submitted a script.

Aloysius Creevey, ladies and gentlemen. Things I've learnt this week:

- sometimes you have to give your 'rents a break
- condoms full of milk and flour make amazing projectiles
- cows cannot withstand an exploding gas tank
- never borrow one of Alo's socks after he's been 'Ultrawanking'

Mr. Creevey's exploits aside: Franky, what are you doing? Watching your friends at it is not cool, especially if you're clearly in love with one of them. "Nothing good will come of this," says this concerned spectator. What should she do? Your thoughts...

Totally loving MM's new found confidence and coolness after Nick. More of that to come? Or will she back to her old bitchy ways?

Rich & Grace? <3. That is all.

Come on, you know what to do - thoughts, comment, rants, raves, yays, whoops, lols, :( etc. below...

Sooooooooooooooooooo, plenty of family drama the last couple of weeks for the Levan brothers. Can you imagine being part of that clan?

Come to mention it, can you imagine being part of any of the Skins 5 lot's family? Well, that's exactly what we want you to do. Who do you think would make the best brother or sister?

Look at our gallery of brother and sister pros and cons >>

If you think you'd like to sit around the family dinner table with that person, give them a 'yay' and tell us why in the comment box. You know we love to hear what you think.

Go forth and comment my Skins family!
