With Jal's pregnancy and her dilemma taking centre stage we didn't see the Chris twist coming at all. Series II really knows how to tug at our heart strings and mess with our heads. We seriously don't know how much more of the dramatic plot action we can take! And the final scenes were really tough to watch, yet totally captivating, as Jal discovered the secret Chris had been keeping from her. We totally empathised with Jal as she struggled to come to terms with what was happening. Chris is one of our favourite characters  - everyone loves Chris, right? He's as universally liked as tomato ketchup, and we really want it to work out for him.

Skins gets serious

With Chris's brother brother dying from the same condition, we're left wondering what's going to happen to Chris. Could the worst case scenario be realised for our favourite party boy? Just as everything was working out for him, and it wasn't all pills and booze. One thing's for sure, with the awesomeness that is Skins and its' coming of age this series, we certainly aren't expecting happy ever after for all of the Skins lot. Now excuse us whilst we sit in a room with the lights off for a while.

Episode 7 - we like!

What is it about Effy’s episodes? Last year we had a whole load of drama as Tony scrambled to save her; this time round although it’s Effy that’s in control, they’re both still masively entertaining edge of your seat stuff. This year the emphasis was on humour, and we really got to know Effy a whole lot better than we have done before, and really warm to her. It feels like we’ve really seen her grow this series, what with having to be her older brother’s support system, when he was the one who used to get her out of the scrapes. And when we say scrapes, that's obviously an understatement as far as this girl's concerned.

We really loved new girl Pandora, hope she sticks around. If it's only just to freak Tony out a little more. Who would have thought a naive 16 year old would have intimidated THE Tony Stonem? And the relationship between Effy and Sid really made us laugh – getting bossed about by his best friend’s little sister - typical Sid. The Cassie and Sid make-up at the end was so realistic, and just what we had been waiting for. But we get the impression Cassie isn’t quite over the Sid/Michelle hook-up just yet. And we’re intrigued to see if she treats Michelle any differently the next time their paths cross.

We can’t quite feel the same desire for Michelle and Tony to get back together as we did with Sid and Cassie, as we don’t quite get what he’s done wrong. Can anyone shed some light on this? As we see it: he treated her like crap in series 1, tried to get her back, got hit by a truck and then tried to piece everything together in series II. He became ‘new’ Tony who was sweet but messed up, he told her he wanted her back and instead of supporting him as he tried to fix himself she got with his best mate. He’s told her he loves her and spent ages on the blower trying to get a response and she’s holding out. We don’t quite get why she’s holding out now, when he seems to be exactly what she wanted him to be in series 1. All a little confusing.

Anyway, enough of all that. We’re really looking forward to episode 8 next week. We’ve got a feeling it’s going to be pretty explosive stuff, we can’t believe there’s only three episodes left. It’s just not enough!

Tony's episode - thoughts please?

So Tony's episode was a little 'out there', to say the least! A strange one that finally saw Tony getting his life back and getting that little bit nearer to getting the girl (Michelle) back.

Not sure how much was meant to be real or not - was it all in his imagination? Did he even go to the open day?

We just can't seem to work it out. Any ideas?

An open letter to Cassie

Dear Cassie,

Wow.
We thought you were doing so well in Elgin, with your walks in the hills and newfound appreciation of wholesome things. We may not know that much about the technicalities of Scottish dancing but we thought you seemed to be picking it up a treat. At least you were giving it a go. We hoped that maybe you were finally on the road to recovery, maybe even keeping some food down.

And now you come back to Bristol and find Sid and Michelle. Together. It must be tough. The lovely Sid and the lovely Michelle deserved a lot more than just a slap across the face and a stern talking to, and you handled that run in well, in fact, we applaud you. But now we feel it’s time for some tough love, Cassandra.

Firstly, do you really need to sleep with everyone in sight to show Sid what he’s missing? Are you sure it’s only him you’re punishing by behaving like this?

We still think you’re magic, but enough of the voodoo please, as well as the ‘bad’ Cassie we’ve been seeing of late. And just because your mates are loved up doesn’t mean you have to get all Jeremy Kyle on their ass and stir things up. Chris would happily lend you his last fiver, if he thought it would make you happy. And Jal has been there for you, even if that meant a high speed ambulance ride to the hospital. So please save the venom for those who deserve it, or better still, forget about them. Who needs them anyway?

What we’re most worried about is that this little Sid and Michelle escapade may have pushed you over the edge. Please don’t go too far, we love having you around.

Apparently the foolish minions at E4 HQ didn't upload the newest Skinscast so in its place was episode 4's. Again. The new podcast is now available, but to teach them a lesson we've slapped their wrists and told them they aren't allowed to go outside and play today. Go on to the Skinscast homepage, to get the new Skinscast now.

Chris's episode - did you love it?

Another cracking episode – looks like now series II has warmed up, it’s just going to get better.

Let’s start off by saying that the Chris episode from the first series was one of our favourites – because it’s so funny and yet so sad at the same time. He’s such a vulnerable character as well as being so upbeat, and his episode is a chance to see the other side to our favourite party boy; with the series II Chris episode we got to see someone making an effort to improve his life – and all because of the love of a good woman. Who would have guessed!

Chris gets a job

Our favourite scene from the whole ep (and there was so much good stuff to choose from) was the Tony in the pool – we love him so much this series! It’s nice to see he’s quietly trying to piece his life back together, whilst his friends seem to be losing it all around him. We love the way the focus isn’t just on Tony either; he has problems and is dealing with it all at the same time as his friends are all caught up with their own drama.

But there were so many laughs this episode – Anwar’s ‘new look’ was a highlight. Or should that be a full head of highlights? There was so much going on this week, we had to watch it twice. The most worrying was that Jal’s pregnancy test came back ‘positive.’ We're kind of disappointed because we thought she was much more sensible than that. As with everything else that happened this week, we’ll have to wait to see how it’s all going to pan out. There’s going to be a lot in store for the Skins lot in the next few eps – and we can’t wait to watch it all unfold.

Episode 4 - we weren't expecting that!

Were you expecting that?! We're not happy about this turn of events, not happy at all. Mainly because we have to wait seven whole days to find out WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! Does that mean its curtains for Cassie and Sid? Will Tony find out and if he does will he get over the massive backstabbing by the two people he’s closest to? And does this mean Cassie will flee back to Scotland? We're desperate for her to stick around, Skins just isn't the same without her.

We say Cassie should definitely stay and take on Michelle - she should fight for her man. If that’s the case, we wonder who would win – we’re backing Cassie, bet that girl has some vicious moves. We just hope this doesn’t push her back over the edge - she was doing so well. Apart from the cliff hanger of an ending, it was good to see the Skins lot on form once again; after the awesomeness that was last week’s moving show, it’s nice to have more of the Skins humour we’ve pretty much loved since day one.

It was also great to see a more vulnerable side to Michelle, but we must admit, it's 'new' Tony we're really feeling for at the moment.  Especially when Michelle opened the present he gave her, and she'd gone and smashed it. That’s what happens when you take a tumble with your ex-boyfriend’s best mate! Surely this is bound to end in tears...

So we wrapped Series II on Friday. And I don't quite know what to say.

Last year when we had finished filming I cried. I sobbed and sobbed. And I thought that this year would be even worse because it's the end of something that's become even more important to me (and also much more of a definite end). But I haven't cried at all.

I'm so happy. Not happy that it's ending but happy with how it's gone. I've been incredibly busy these past three weeks shooting my episode and I've had the most wonderful time. This last week in particular has been one of the best of my life. And I'm utterly blissful in the most lovely sleep-deprived way. So I think a big reason I'm not sad that it's over is that if it had to be over this was just the perfect way for it to be so. I feel we've really really gone out on a high - and I think episodes 9 and 10 reflect that also, they're absolutely the best way I think the series could end.

And of course Skins has to end for me. There's no way I would want to be in a teenage drama when I'm 25 or 30, and I completely lost interest in Buffy after they finished high school. And there's was a real sense of it being the end of term and the last day of school on Friday. We got a big group photo taken of all the cast and crew, and we had a special Christmas lunch with crackers, and everyone was getting people to write messages on their scripts and then in the evening we had a really big party. Joe described Skins the other day as being like an equivalent to a University experience for him, and this whole end of school vibe made me feel that maybe it was a something like that for me as well.

I hope that you enjoy Series II, and if it's even a fraction as good as making it was then I think you probably will a bit.
