Episode 4 - we weren't expecting that!

Were you expecting that?! We're not happy about this turn of events, not happy at all. Mainly because we have to wait seven whole days to find out WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! Does that mean its curtains for Cassie and Sid? Will Tony find out and if he does will he get over the massive backstabbing by the two people he’s closest to? And does this mean Cassie will flee back to Scotland? We're desperate for her to stick around, Skins just isn't the same without her.

We say Cassie should definitely stay and take on Michelle - she should fight for her man. If that’s the case, we wonder who would win – we’re backing Cassie, bet that girl has some vicious moves. We just hope this doesn’t push her back over the edge - she was doing so well. Apart from the cliff hanger of an ending, it was good to see the Skins lot on form once again; after the awesomeness that was last week’s moving show, it’s nice to have more of the Skins humour we’ve pretty much loved since day one.

It was also great to see a more vulnerable side to Michelle, but we must admit, it's 'new' Tony we're really feeling for at the moment.  Especially when Michelle opened the present he gave her, and she'd gone and smashed it. That’s what happens when you take a tumble with your ex-boyfriend’s best mate! Surely this is bound to end in tears...

So we wrapped Series II on Friday. And I don't quite know what to say.

Last year when we had finished filming I cried. I sobbed and sobbed. And I thought that this year would be even worse because it's the end of something that's become even more important to me (and also much more of a definite end). But I haven't cried at all.

I'm so happy. Not happy that it's ending but happy with how it's gone. I've been incredibly busy these past three weeks shooting my episode and I've had the most wonderful time. This last week in particular has been one of the best of my life. And I'm utterly blissful in the most lovely sleep-deprived way. So I think a big reason I'm not sad that it's over is that if it had to be over this was just the perfect way for it to be so. I feel we've really really gone out on a high - and I think episodes 9 and 10 reflect that also, they're absolutely the best way I think the series could end.

And of course Skins has to end for me. There's no way I would want to be in a teenage drama when I'm 25 or 30, and I completely lost interest in Buffy after they finished high school. And there's was a real sense of it being the end of term and the last day of school on Friday. We got a big group photo taken of all the cast and crew, and we had a special Christmas lunch with crackers, and everyone was getting people to write messages on their scripts and then in the evening we had a really big party. Joe described Skins the other day as being like an equivalent to a University experience for him, and this whole end of school vibe made me feel that maybe it was a something like that for me as well.

I hope that you enjoy Series II, and if it's even a fraction as good as making it was then I think you probably will a bit.

And so it’s over and done with! Well except a few days of shooting the internet stuff, but it’s not the main unit so not the same.

Was a good ride and the last week was a good one. Had our final football match which was a good laugh, being one of the worst players on the pitch I had a good match for 15 minutes then just gave up.

Footy team

Must say though thanks to Nike we did all look very good in our matching kits! Which Midge in locations said to give back and he’d get Skins 08 printed on them but haven’t yet seen them.

So, Skins II is finally over, well just about, nearly.  (Technically we still have a week left).  To celebrate we had a wrap party on Friday night in a dingy club in Bristol (very apt for Skins) which was fantastic.

Dev and Dan

Everyone involved was there and we danced and drank in to the early hours of Saturday morning and then about 12 of us came back to mine and we watch the Skins Out-take Show: 20 minutes of series 2 cock-ups the editors had put together.  It was a great watch and bought back loads of memories from over the past 6 months. In fact, it was so good we watched it twice. Then about 5 of us finally called it a night at 9am, out partying even Joe Dempsie (Chris). It is official, the crew are far more rock’n’roll hard core than the cast.

This final week we’re filming platforms for the internet.  We’ve already filmed a Skin’s Christmas Special which is going out on the web about the same time as the Queen’s speech and we get to see some of the lovely cast dressed as a nativity play. Nick Hoult is even trying out his skills as a director. This should be pretty interesting as all the crew want him to succeed and it will be a total team effort.

On Monday we filmed sex scenes all day. For legal reasons we had to wait till one of our cast turned 18 as it’s quite a full on scene. I have to admit it was pretty strange to be sat next to Harry Enfield (director for episodes 5 and 6) while your mate’s thrusting on a bed 5 ft away from you.

After spending 6 months working 13 hour days with people who have become friends, Skins is now coming to an end. We are now all leaving to our various homes over the country and it all feels like quite an anti climax, but maybe next year we’ll be doing it all again. Till then, the break will be lovely and it’s going to be great seeing the final product on our screens in the New Year. I hope you have as much fun watching Skins 2 as we have had making it.

What a phenomenal game of football we had. It had everything a game needs, from pure skill to pushing, barging, arguing and without doubt laughing. It’s hard not to laugh with Harry Enfield as the referee. Though not the most fairest of them all I must say, the penalty he gave to Seth our Third A.D’s team was certainly suspicious. Even if they did have the ref on their side our team prevailed and the game was ours. With the skill of Mitch Hewer (Maxxie) and the, well let's just say heart of Mike Bailey how could we lose.  Joe Dempsie (Chris), top scorer on his side had nothing on our solid defence. 7-5 to us and it was a sweet victory.

As for the Table football well that didn’t go all my way I’m afraid.  Seth won the championship to every ones dismay. I like to see it as the student over taking the master. I should be proud; I won’t let him know I let him have it. At least I beat Bailey and the other cast. Not bitter at all.

And so another year of Skins has come to an end with a festive spirit. On our last day you could hear through out the corridors and canteen of the studio the harmony of Seth and the Midnight Runners (That’s the A.D band) singing Christmas carols while the cast and crew indulged in their last meal together looking forward to the night to come. The wrap party! This isn’t just any old party this is the Skins wrap party.

Our filming day finished with Hannah Murray, recording a voice over, and then a great cheer as the final "That’s a wrap" was called. People shook hands, even embraced; the ambience of the studio was sad but jubilant at what we had achieved. And so each crew and cast went their separate ways to get ready for one more party with the people they’ve become so close to in these last few months.

I wish I could give you an in depth account of the night but I’m afraid most of it is a blur. I do remember taking advantage of the free drinks a lot though and rocking home at nine thirty in the morning. I can assure you there was plenty of singing, dancing, kissing (not saying who) and group hugs on the dance floor. I can generally say it was a night celebrated by some of the hardest working, funniest people I’ve ever met who shall all be missed truly. In the last six months I’ve never laughed so much and so hard than I have with these people. It’s been a pleasure worth indulging.

I’m not on form today…

I am still recovering from the game of football the cast and crew played last week. We have been playing some small games together but this time we did it properly. We hired an outdoor pitch and even had proper kits, one team in black one in white. Joe Dempsie missed a penalty but scored some ‘Sweet ones’ (as Beckham would say), Nick Hoult played like a demon on the left wing, Mike ‘The Horse’ Bailey played like a wasp trapped in a jam jar and Mitch Hewer was typically brilliant. Something that distracted me from playing was Mitch’s hair, which became more like a giant haystack as the game went on (imagine Owen Wilson gone wrong). Anyway, It was a great game and we were lucky enough to be refereed by none other than Mr. Harry Enfield! My team lost so I wont go on about that anymore.

The other reason I am not on form is that I’m recovering from the Skins wrap party that was held on Friday night. I can’t remember a lot that went on and I’m sorry that I have no gossip to offer. Apparently, I fell asleep in the club while John (a fellow Runner) and Nick Hoult sang sweet Christmas Carols in my ear. I eventually got home and fell asleep on a saw, some screws, and a tool box.

Sadly, that’s the end of my input into Skins 2. We have finished filming the excellent second series and we will all go our seperate ways for a holiday. I have made some real friends working on skins and have some great memories. Like the rest of you, I can’t wait to see it on TV. Look out for a good-looking guy with a bit of a beard driving Sid home in Episode 4… It’s me!

We've been informed by the creators of Skins that some people have been posing as Skins casting agents and approaching fans inviting them to castings which are not legit. If you have been approached by anyone posing as a casting agent and invited to a Skins casting, please DO NOT GO. The makers of Skins will not approach young people on the bus, walking down the street or anywhere else.

Any Skins castings will be announced on this very site, or www.skinslife.com, the casting agent is called Jane Ripley and she does not approach young people inviting them to castings. At the moment these dodgy characters have approached people in Bristol and London, inviting them to castings in both cities, so please keep your wits about you. If you haven't heard it here or on www.skinslife.com, it is not the real deal.

If you aren't sure whether something is dodgy or not, best thing to do is to email us here at e4.com.

We’ve just had a look at episode 3. And not only are we pleased to say that the delightful, delicious, delectable Cassie is back on our screens, but it’s also one of our favourite episodes since the dawn of Skins. In the words of our favourite space cadet: Wow. We love it, it has everything you could ask for in a Skins episode - humour, sad stuff and an ending that’s bittersweet and leaves you wanting more. As well as all that, there’s a performance by Crystal Castles. What’s not to like? Don’t miss it! And when you’ve watched it, get vocal. We want to know whether you loved it as much as us.

We must admit, we weren't expecting THAT! Is it just us, or was that episode seriously dark? Maybe we've just been watching too many cartoons and are just a little bit sensitive or something. Series II definitely has a lot of suprises in store. What are your thoughts on Sketch, do you fancy her sticking around to torment nice guy Maxxie a little longer? Or maybe just to spend some more 'quality time' with Anwar? And what about Tony and Michelle? There's so many questions that need answering, however what we need to know first if all is whether Cassie's coming back. We miss her! We may have to start a Campaign for Cassie if she doesn't turn up soon. We really hope she's eating well, we worry about that one.
