E Stings:

E4's rather lovely video competition

E Stings finalists 2009

Firstly, we would like to say a massive THANKS to everyone who entered E Stings this year. We received an overwhelming number of entries and the standard was higher than it has ever been. Honest - we were blown away!

Our judges have now perused all the entries and we can assure you that selecting just fifteen to go through to the next round was no easy task. However, we are delighted to confirm that we have selected these fifteen E Stings as finalists, all of which will start playing out within the E4 schedule very soon.

What happens next?

Our fifteen finalists are now busy working away at a new brief set by our creative team, where they will be asked to produce an on-air treatment or storyboard in response to this brief. Our judges will then select the final winner and runners up from these new entries, and we’ll be announcing the winners and congratulating all the finalists at an exclusive awards bash in central London later this year.

Apart from Blow-dried Stinger they're all depressingly predictable. More talented imaginative people need to be making stuff not ordinary people who can use some software.

There's definitely some excellent work here, particularly 'A Ride of Some Sort' - genius! Just a shame about having two butterfly and two computer game based ideas go through. A bit more variety would've been better...
