E Stings FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions about this year's E Stings. You may also find an answer on e4.com's general Video Upload FAQs.

If you're really stuck, you can contact us via our help section, but please only do this as a last resort. We recieve a lot of emails and cannot always give you a response. We cannot confirm whether we've recieved your entry either - please just follow the advice below and good luck!

Where can I download the soundbeds and E4 logo?

All the materials you need can be downloaded from this link (right click and save). Everything you need to know and download is on the main E Stings 2011 entry page.

The Terms and Conditions state that the competition is only open to UK residents. Can people from the Republic of Ireland enter?

We are very sorry, on this occasion the competition is only open to UK residents.

It says in the Terms and Conditions that the Stings must not contain any commercial music. Would it be possible to sample music as long as it falls under broadcasting sampling laws?

Unfortunately we are unable to accept Stings that contain any commercial music, regardless of its status under broadcasting sampling laws. To make things easier for everyone we have provided a number of ten second soundbeds which you are free to use in your Stings. You are of course welcome to use something that you have composed yourself, but should be aware that by entering the competition you automatically declare that both the Sting and the music are your own work, unless you have opted to use one of our soundbeds.

Is there a limit on the amount of E Stings I can enter?

This year we are limiting it to one entry per person. If you submit any subsequent entries then the judges will only consider your first entry.

I've uploaded my E Sting but can't see it on the website, have you definitely received it?

Only a selection of entries will appear on the E4 site, but all entries will be viewed by the judging panel. If your E Sting isn’t going to appear on the site then you will be sent an email confirming that your entry has been received.
