She was the popular girl at school. You can tell.
While at school she also had that ‘deviated septum’ taken care of, though a few flashbacks reveal a hooter comparable of Gonzo the Great’s, which miraculously shrank at some point. She still has a touch of the cheerleader about her – a character trait which helped in her career in fashion and slightly less her career as a waitress.
Rachel first pitches up in the big city after running scared from her initial attempted marriage and finding herself on the doorstep of former best friend Monica. Rachel was the Daphne to Monica’s Velma, so when the two start living together, there were occasionally problems.
Rachel’s utter lack of domesticity was one issue. Possibly wouldn’t be a problem, except for Monica’s clean-freakiness. And when she added meat to a trifle recipe I think we all knew that the ‘domestic goddess’ tag would be going to someone else.
Her love-life is complicated, what with yo-yoing with Ross (not in a good way) and picking up and discarding numerous dates and boyfriends over the years (including Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis for some reason). But she still manages to hang onto her friends – after all she’s the one with the hair!
