Paul Stamp comes into the Grandmaster Flash Award '09 fray with a strong shout here. 8 Bit Junkie is a wonderful homage to one of the earliest gaming iterations, and does it no disservice. You control the good guy - pac man - and you have to gobble up the bad guys - space invaders.

This is done with a Music Catch style of gameplay where you have to whirl about collecting the invaders and avoiding a certain colour. There are power ups - goods - and annoyances - bads - to collect or avoid along the way.

Controls

Pacman follows the mouse.

Tips

Have a look at all the referential little touches across the game here. That's pong isn't it? oh, and there's Spock, and Banksy?!

Glad to see my game is stirring up a good debate, lots of valid comments folks. Interesting spread of yays and nays so far. Hopefully though you can see through any of the down sides and just appreciate a simple game thatâ€™s straight forward, easy to play and hopefully puts a smile on your face in the process. Vote 8bit Junkie!

This game is a great mash up, the music on each level is ace and i love the bonus level! definately worth playing the 5 other levels just to make your own custom level....my pacman got so big it took up the whole page! maybe less levels to get to the custom level? but all in all super game :)
