Bring It On

Cricketing six-hitter. 'Brill' is Catherine's succinct verdict on this, an irreverent adaptation of those TV ads you might remember where an old guy shows up and shouts a bit about The Ashes and Australians. The old guy, it turns out, is famous British cricketer WG Grace, and this is his attempt to nail those 'convict' cricketers from down under.

In fact, in terms of (lack of) subtlety, this version's a bit more like the - almost as popular - Nanaca Crash - though here the aim is to knock the Australian convicts into jail by bouncing them off various trees and kangaroos. 'There's some great little quirks', concludes Catherine, 'like [late, antipodean alligator annoyer] Steve Irwin waiting on the other coast' - though the physics is even more imaginative: how on earth do they manage to bounce off the sea?
