Mario Combat

It's good to see the little moustachioed Italian plumber out for another classic run around - all pixellated and 2D 'n' ting. It's how god made him after all (and by god we of course mean Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Donkey Kong). This time out he's been taking some kung fu lessons like what he did for the superb Super Smash Bros series. He's got upper cuts, spin kicks, quick-fire punches, wall jumps and more with which to take down the oncoming Koopa Troopas.

The ultimate aim has not changed - you've got one main enemy and Bowser is his name! If you can avoid the lava, batter the Koopa Troopas and progress far enough, you will be treated to a battle in the sky with the spiny, fire-breathing felon himself. This genre will NEVER get old - fact.

Use the arrow keys to move, double tap or hold the up key when jumping at a wall to perform a wall jump, and use the 'a' button to attack. You can achieve different combos by pressing the 'a' button at different times or combined with directions.

Take care when you're near an edge, as lava is an instant fail. When using the wall jump to get up a vertical tunnel, once you've got the first one right you can just hold up and he will do the rest. Nice.
