One Soldier

The trick is when to stick your head above the parapet in this war-like shooter where you try to blast tanks

Review

You play as a soldier. Not only do you have to shoot down the enemy, you have have to use tactics to know when to dodge and when to shoot. But, interestingly, the action's all seen from a bird's-eye view, so you direct your movement by rotating and then going backwards or forwards, like a not-set-in-outer-space version of Asteroids.

Both you and the enemy troops have an unlimited supply of ammunition so the trick is really to pop out of cover, let off a few shots in the right direction, then duck down again and repeat. You get an infinite number of lives to complete the 5 (interestingly varied) levels - our only real niggle is that the whole experience seems much more like controlling tanks than soldiers.

Controls

Arrow keys to rotate, go forward or back, mouse pointer to aim, mouse button to fire.

Tips

Watch out for new enemies appearing in the grey buildings as you walk past them - but you don't always have to eliminate everyone else on a screen to make it to the exit.
