Red Beard

Pirate platformer. Well, we assume Mr Red Beard is a pirate (largely from his name), but from his activities depicted here, he's clearly not in quite the same league as, say, Boarding Bunny.

Red, it transpires, is merely on a gold hunt, which happens to involve collecting blobs of other colours along the way. The blobs act like keys to activate the corresponding special platforms you need to jump on, and the sign at the beginning tells you how many of each you need to get each one going.

It's simple at first but gets tricky later, as the levels of skill and puzzle elements increase and not just because the steel-drum soundtrack gradually sends you insane.
