A bit different what you might be used to after Roberto Baggio Magical Kicks - as Funjunkie puts it, in this one, "You play as the striker and the goalie. Not at the same time, naturally. Although this doesn't mean it's a huge departure from the genre, at least it keeps your skills honed."
As if the regular references to "soccer" (and America's "best selling brand of paper napkins") weren't enough of a clue, the game does seem to be American in origin, which is why you might not recognise the curiously-misshapen players that you select from at the start. But switching between trying to get the ball in the goal and trying to keep it out helps keep the game interesting, even in the absence of other varying factors like, oh, off the top of our heads, how about a bit of "wind speed"?
