Spy Hunter

"It's a classic Spy Hunter version of the new game", reports Boy 1 in his explanation, and there's no disputing its pixel-perfect recreation of the 1983 arcade original (complete with one of the coolest theme tunes ever). Clearly inspired by James Bond, your spy car can pick up special weapons like an oil slick, ground-to-air missiles and smoke screen - and, arguably best of all - has to drive into the back of a moving truck to do so.

In fact, we're secretly pleased that someone else sent this in, as we weren't sure whether to include it because it's just so difficult in every respect. Sure, international espionage isn't supposed to be a picnic, but the sheer number of keys required to recreate the arcade machine's multi-buttoned steering wheel turns every second into a nerve-shredding battle for survival. To start with, we'd advise resisting the temptations of that special weapons van - just concentrate on keeping the car on the road (and see if you can get to the bit where it turns into a boat).

Arrow keys for left, right, accelerate, decelerate, Space to fire, B to change gear, V to call weapons van, Z, X and C for special weapons (Oil, Missiles, Smoke Screen).

For newbies, the most confusing bit is probably the gears - you can't start in anything but "Low", when pretty much everything else can overtake you. But shifting to "High" (eg to drive into the weapons van) usually flings right into the back of someone else, so practice using up and down to balance your position about two-thirds of the way down the screen.
