Review

Impressive 3D version of the classic Tron "light cycles" game. There's no denying that this appears to have been influenced by the "run the other player into the wall" bit from the cult computer graphics movie "Tron" but, then again, the film did borrow the idea from several early computer games (themselves the inspiration for the Nokia phone version of "Snake"?)

Anyway, as the endearingly translated instructions put it: "You are a rider of 'the Battle bike of Chicken Run'. Defeat other competitor with you riding skill and guts", and it's hard to improve on that. There seems to be a networked multiplayer version (in English or Japanese) that I couldn't quite figure out - plus an incomprehensible Japanese banner ad at the top of the screen. How much more futuristic can you get?

Controls

Left arrow key - turn left, right arrow key - turn right.

Tips

The most boring tactic is obviously to try to wall off as big an area as possible while the other 3 bikes get stuck in the corners, but where's the fun in that? Reap the whirlwind! Get stuck in!
