Myra and the girls were charmed when they met sweet, innocent young Bart at his step-mum's funeral. Spying an opportune moment, Bart's Dad decided to offload the lad. It didn't take Myra long to work out the truth about young Bart. Like his namesake from cartoon-world, Bart is a scamp through and through.
Not long after joining the village, Bart struck up a friendship with Jasmine Costello. They bonded over a mutual love for spray-paint and mischief and their friendship quickly blossomed into a romance. The relationship hit a bump in the road when Jasmine admitted she wanted to be a boy and that she was self-harming. After a brief flirtation with wearing make-up (to help him empathise, of course), Bart decided he could only be friends with re-born Jason Costello.
The Bart-throb couldn't stay single for long though and a new woman has since come into his life - one Miss Sinead O'Connor. He realised he was falling in love with the young lass after they took a sun-drenched trip to Abersoch and now they've even got their own song ('God Only Knows', by The Beach Boys).
When Sinead's evil step-mum Diane O'Connor wouldn't let them be together, they did what any true young lovers living in a fictional world would do - they eloped.
Their happiness in the wilderness was shortlived, however, when Jason showed up and, while being held hostage by a farmer with a shotgun (long story), he and Bart kissed! OMG! This left all three of them broken hearted and they returned to the village to start a new term at Hollyoaks Sixth Form.
Sinead did what any self-respecting girl would do, and decided to cop off with bad boy Gaz in an effort to show just how much she didn't need Bart in her life.
But if we know one thing about the little scamp, it's that he doesn't give up easily. So when Sinead and Gaz decided to escape the clearly doomed Village of Hollyoaks to go on tour with a band, Bart did what any young romantic would do... and STORMED A WRETCH 32 GIG.
Funnily enough, the grand romantic gesture seemed to work, and Sinead left Gaz (now commonly referred to as a rat in a tracksuit) behind.
But love's young dream never quite runs so smooth, and Bart's attraction to 'THE WEEEEED' somehow out-grew his affections for Sinead. He got Myra sent down when she took the wrap for his stash in the attic, and even cheated with French singer Lola on a drug-addled trip to Amsterdam.
And Bart's dabbling in drugs wasn't over. When driving under the influence, he forced a mini-bus full of all his closest friends (and Sinead!) off the road and straight into a double-wedding venue - crashing through Ste and Doug's and Cindy and Tony's wedding day.
Stoned Bart then fled the scene, leaving his girlfriend, friends and family in the wreckage. What's more, it turned out that Sinead was pregnant the whole while - although the baby's father wasn't actually Bart, but Rhys!
After vowing to be a great dad to Sinead's baby, Bart still couldn't stay away from the weed. With the police interested in his involvement in the bus crash, he decided to rob Chez Chez with Joel so he could run away with Sinead. But things didn't quite go to plan, and Brendan caught them in the act. He fled Hollyoaks with Brendan's threats still ringing in his ears...leaving poor Sinead all on her own.
