As slippery as an eel in grease, Doctor Browning effortlessly charms his way out of all his wrongdoings. He's intense, he's dangerous, and he's got a rather unhealthy obsession with Mercedes Fisher. These two dark souls first crossed paths when Mercedes got a job as a cleaner at Dee Valley hospital. Despite mistaking her for a prostitute (leaving money on the bedside table after their first naughty encounter), a dangerous bond was formed.
Dr Browning knows no limits when it comes to protecting Mercedes. He murdered Lynsey Nolan in a bid to keep her quiet about her many crimes, testified that Riley (an innocent, deceased, man) was an abusive murderer in order to get her off charges of perverting the course of justice, and then falsely diagnosed Myra with a life-threatening condition to close the rift between her and Mercy. More twisted than a pretzel, Browning certainly calls the phrase: 'trust me, I’m a doctor' into serious question. Perhaps Dr Browning and Mercedes are a match made in heaven. Or should that be hell?
