Gary "Gaz" Bennett (played by Joel Goonan)
Racist, bully, toe-rag, menace... there are a lot of adjectives one could apply to Gaz Bennett, not many of them affectionate. During his on-off tenure in the village, he's done a pretty GOOD job at being BAD. Some of his crimes are listed below:
- Racially tormented and abused the Roy and Valentine families (threw white paint over Anita Roy's head)
- Harassed Theresa McQueen
- Burnt down Relish
- Assaulted Gilly
- Attempted assault on Nancy
After being released from 'juvey', where he was being detained for one of his many transgressions, Gaz proceeded in typical, top form - taking up drug dealing for Brendan Brady as well as having an illicit affair with his boss's wife, Heidi Costello.
After going AWOL for a bit, Gaz returned to wreak havoc with our favourite Hollyoaks lovebirds by dating a newly-single Sinead. Shock!
But even bad boy Gaz couldn't stay in the way of true love. After telling Maddie that he was going to dump Sinead for her, the 'rat in a tracksuit' then decided to stay with Sinead so he could take the job she had got them both. What a love rat.
They were all set to leave Hollyoaks' Village by going on tour with Wretch 32, until Bart crashed the first gig and sang his love to Sinead. His epic stunt left Gaz as ancient history...Sinead came home while Gaz went on with the tour. Good riddance!
