He's hot. He's Scottish. He's a DJ. And...he's Warren Fox's long lost son! Yes, there's no denying that Scottish Foxy, as he's affectionately known, is whole lot of exciting things rolled into one.
Arriving in the Village late last year to find his Dad, he immediately caused a stir by helping Brendan and Mitzeee get Foxy Snr banged up. Maybe not so much a chip off the old block eh?
Hmm the jury is still out on that one. When he later returned to the Village owning half of Chez Chez (thanks to his surprisingly forgiving Pa), he had plans to play Brendan Brady at his own game. At least that was the plan anyway... After an initial battle of wills, Joel eventually realised that it's better to be with Brendan than against him and agreed to be his apprentice.
When he wasn't trying to out Fox the Double B, Joel was happy to cause trouble elsewhere. When he felt Will was a barrier to his burgeoning romance with Theresa, Joel reacted by beating Will up - much to Theresa's disgust
Joel showed some Brendan-like behaviour when he manipulated Bart into growing cannabis in the McQueen's attic. Of course, he has yet to tell Theresa (who is now his official girlf...aww!) - as her aunty Myra got banged up as a result of this. Naughty.
Joel's place at Brendan's side seemed guaranteed - that was until the arrival of Walker who seemingly usurped Joel in the pecking order of Brendan's affections. Worse still, when Walker dropped out of a job Brendan sent Joel in his place - which resulted in Joel being brutally stabbed by a criminal called Sampson. Luckily Joel survived and Brendan swore to protect him in future.
It seems Joel was right to be suspicious of Walker, as it turned out he was an undercover cop, on a mission to wreak revenge on Brendan.
In Hollyoaks Later 2012, young Joel's life was turned upside down. The arrival of his abusive step dad Mick led to a Brendan Brady style intervention.
On the run from a crime which he didn't even commit, Joel fled to Ireland with Theresa for a fresh start, but has since returned to Hollyoaks with his Scottish Foxy tail between his legs. Stealing from Hollyoaks legend Tony, and Price Slice on a daily basis, Joel’s new petty-theft persona didn’t last long, as he was arrested and sent to prison.
On his return, Joel vowed to start afresh. But it wasn't long before Brendan was calling on him to do his dirty business once more, and payed Joel to kill Seamus. After the attempt failed, Brendan took his money back, and Joel decided he was going to get his cash by robbing Chez Chez with Bart. Big mistake. The pair fled Hollyoaks with Brendan's threats still ringing in their ears...
Poor Theresa, she sure can pick 'em.
