Where do we start with The Hutch? Hollyoaks' longest serving character, Tony has had what you would call "a colourful life".
Quite the Romeo, he has been married TWICE. His first marriage to Mandy ended in heartbreak when their baby daughter Grace sadly died. His second marriage to Cindy ended in disaster when she cheated on him with Darren and he fell in love with Gabby Sharpe! His third marriage to Cindy (again!) may still be holding out, but so far it's been a bit shaky...
On top of that there's been numerous engagements, romances and flings - he's bedded THREE McQueens (Mercy, Theresa and, arguably the love of his life, Jacqui) and even had an affair with Mandy's mum. Weird times.
Tiring of life in the village, last year he upped sticks and headed off to travel around the world. When he returned he had a new relaxed outlook on life (and a sarong) and soon hooked up with Mandy (again). Sadly, a reunion for the ex Mr and Mrs Hutchinson was not to be as Mandy suddenly left the Village without so much as a goodbye, leaving only a note for a bereft Tony. Sob!
It was at Darren and Nancy's wedding where Tony surprised us all by hooking up with his ex wife Cindy. We're all hopeless romantics here, but sometimes we just wish our Tony would learn his lesson. He certainly isn't a 'once bitten, twice shy' kinda guy. Adulterous Cindy was soon at it again, frolicking with Rhys in the storeroom of College Coffee in between meetings with the wedding planners. Tony temporarily lost his sight, giving Rhys and Cindy even more opportunity to do the dirty, and it was when Tony regained his vision that he finally saw what was going on.
The wedding cake hadn't even been cut before naughty Cindy was planning to run away with Rhys. And it wasn't Cindy's loyalty to Tony that stopped them in their tracks. Nope, it was an out-of-control mini-bus, which horrifically came crashing through the wedding venue, killing Rhys in the process.
Even in the face of such heartbreak, Tony proved himself as noble and strong. Standing by Cindy while she mourned the death of her lover, he even said Rhys' eulogy at the wake for Jacqui. What a top gent.
Will Tony ever give Cindy the heave-ho for her cheating ways? And what about the old rekindling flame between Jacqui and he? They shared a kiss at the wake, but will it end there?
Nick appeared in Hollyoaks' very first episode all the way back in 1995! He is also the founder of the Hollyoaks Football team - who are pretty good don't you know.
