Daughter of Gordon "Mr C" Cunningham, sister to Max and half-sister to little Tom, life for Cindy has always been one drama after another. The Village's first gymslip mum, she was 16 when she gave birth to her daughter Holly in the back of her dad's video shop.
Cunning(ham) through and through, Cindy gets by mainly on her knack for manipulating men. Her prey have included:Darren Osborne, Tony Hutchinson (twice!) and Alistair Longford (grandad of India and Texas)
It was poor old Alistair who provided Cindy with the riches she had always craved. She returned from their honeymoon alone, with a rather ropey story about him having fallen off an Alp and a bank account full of inherited cash.
Finally having all money and power she had ever desired, she grabbed the opportunity to lord it over everyone in the village, opening health and beauty spa Cinergy and causing no end of mischief...Cindy wasn't afraid to make enemies!
After months of frittering away her millions, Cindy discovered she was bankrupt. Penniless, homeless and forced to close down Cinergy, she found unexpected support from ex hubby Tony.
Her fortune gone and short of friends, Cindy discovered that bad things come in threes when Darren announced he was planning a secret wedding to Nancy. Having always believed she and Darren would end up together, Cindy tried to sabotage the wedding - kissing Darren and running off in the wedding dress. Needless to say, her plan didn't work out.
It was at Darren and Nancy's wedding where Cindy rekindled an old flame... hooking up with Tony! He certainly isn't a 'once bitten, twice shy' kinda guy. Adulterous Cindy was soon at it again, frolicking with Rhys in the storeroom of College Coffee in between meetings with the wedding planners. Tony temporarily lost his sight, giving Rhys and Cindy even more opportunity to do the dirty, and it was when Tony regained his vision that Cindy was caught canoodling.
The wedding cake hadn't even been cut before naughty Cindy was planning to run away with Rhys. And it wasn't Cindy's loyalty to Tony that stopped her in her tracks. Nope, it was an out-of-control mini-bus, which horrifically came crashing through the wedding venue, killing her 'true love' Rhys in the process.
In a strange act of loyalty, Tony stood by Cindy after the crash. When Jacqui discovered that it was in fact Cindy who had been having an affair with her husband, she bashed Cindy over the head with a garden gnome. It was Cindy's audacious attempt to report Jacqui to the police that was the final straw for Tony, who realised that he loved Jacqui all along.
With Holly back from boarding school, and Tony wanting Cindy out of his flat once and for all, who will Cindy get her claws in to next?
Steph was one of the early cast members of Hollyoaks and first came onto our screens way back in 1995!
