Hollyoaks - Mercedes Fisher (played by Jennifer Metcalfe)

She's no angel but the Village would be far less entertaining without our Mercedes.

This glamorous McQueen can't seem to keep herself out of trouble – more often than not due to her tendency to hop into bed with those she shouldn't!

During her dramatic tenure in Hollyoaks, Mercedes has had many conquests (including Rhys and Tony!) but it seems that it’s when she tries to settle down that Mercy is at her naughtiest:

Her first marriage, to Russ Owen, ended almost as soon as it began when it was revealed that Mercy had a Hen Night tryst with none other than Warren Fox. Oops.

Marriage No. 2 to rugged Irish charmer Malachy Fisher. Malachy Fisher hit a rock in the ripped form of Calvin Valentine (Mercy's own on/off brother in law). Though the couple eventually reconciled, Malachy was tragically killed in 2010 saving Mercy from the Il Gnosh fire. Sucks to be you, Mal.

Of course, Mercedes knows the best way to get over a man is to get under another one and so she was promptly engaged to hunky football starlet Riley Costello, only to also fall for the flinty eyed charms of Carl – Riley's own misbehaving dad.

Uh oh.

It was this affair that got Mercedes in her biggest pickle yet – finding herself pregnant with no idea who the father was!

Her dramatic WAG wedding confession to Riley at the altar didn't help matters: putting her on the hit-list of Silas, Riley's evil serial killing granddad, who abducted her and held her prisoner in a vault, where poor Mercy gave birth to baby Bobby.

Though Riley came to her rescue, he could not forgive his errant missus-to-be for her infidelity and he left the village on New Year's Eve 2011 with Bobby, Mercedes giving up her son.

2012 has proved to be no less dramatic. So far she has dabbled in prostitution by sleeping with sleazy Dr Browning, snogged Rhys and Ally and, when Riley returned to the village, showed little interest in her son - instead obsessing with getting her footballer back.

She's had some competition on the Riley front though. She was devastated when she discovered that her one friend Lynsey was secretly dating him. She gave them her blessing though, because her real rival for Riley's affections was none other than Mitzeee and she went to increasingly sinister lengths to defeat her, even posing as a stalker!

We can't be too harsh on Mercedes though. When it was recently announced that Silas would not be standing trial she suffered a massive breakdown, once again sleeping with Dr Browning, and her mental state was not helped when Myra was sent to prison for six months. Poor Mercy!

With Lynsey's help, she tried to come to terms with what happened to her and move on with her life. She started going to counselling and even started dating Rob. But Mercy just couldn't stop her devious ways, and because of her stirring about Mitzeee, Lynsey and Riley broke up.

Mercedes plan didn't work quite as well as she hoped, as Riley turned to Mitzeee's arms rather than hers. Rather than admit defeat, it was time for Mercy to get seriously evil. She ramped up her stalker antics and STABBED HERSELF (shocker!) whilst Mitzeee was out cold, thanks to a blow to the head by Mercedes. She framed Mitzeee for the stabbing and got her locked up, with a concerned Riley supporting her all the way.

Finally back into Riley's life, was this happy ever after for Mercy? Possibly, until Lynsey found evidence of her stalking and blackmailed her into telling Riley the truth.

A coincidence, some may say, that Lynsey was found murdered in her flat not long afterwards...
