Hollyoaks - Nancy Osborne (played by Jessica Fox)

They say good things come in small packages and that's definitely the case when it comes to Nancy, the feistiest fun-size female in Hollyoaks.

She hasn't always had an easy time of it. Her sister Becca died in prison and which left Nancy with the unenviable task of fighting Frankie for custody of Becca's son Charlie - a fight she eventually won.

She was the victim of serious domestic abuse when she married Jake Dean (ex-hubby of Becca and son of Frankie...but let's not go there), who psychologically bullied her and tried to rape her.

After that horrific ordeal, a more fun Nancy blossomed, enjoying flings with Justin (another of Becca's exes), Russ and a cheeky ménage a trois with bisexual boys Kris and Ravi, though jealousy and in-fighting eventually spelled the end of that little flirtation.

Throughout all of this, Nancy has been determined to establish herself as a career woman - though she hasn't always been sure what career! After attempting to make it as a teacher at Hollyoaks High, she then turned her attentions to becoming the Chester Herald's next roving reporter. Her tabloid endeavors caught the eye of renowned journalist Silas Blissett, who took her under his wing...Sadly, Silas was a serial killer and used Nancy to help cover his murderous tracks! Perhaps being an investigative journalist wasn't for Nancy afterall...

Of course, we can't talk about Nancy without mentioning Darren. Yes, It seems as though Nancy may finally have found real love in the most unlikely of candidates. After years of bickering and sniping, the two opposites both discovered that, actually, behind it all, they really, really fancied each other a lot!

It hasn't all been plain sailing for Dancy though. They'd only been engaged a matter of minutes when Suzanne Ashworth showed up, heavily pregnant with Darren's twins! Then there was the time Darren spent all of their rent money on a water bed. And don't forget Darren's ex Cindy, who was always on hand to cause trouble...

It was Nancy's insecurities about Cindy that caused the biggest Dancy upset yet. Convinced that Darren and Cindy were having an affair, Nancy decided to move to Canada with Charlie and her mum Margaret - not knowing that Darren had actually been planning a secret Valentine's Day wedding all along!

Thankfully, Nancy discovered the truth and married Darren in a beautiful wedding in the Folly. Hooray! Returning from honeymoon, Nancy found herself feeling nauseous at manner of things, particularly in the morning...yes, she was pregnant! Promising to Darren that she'd keep the news a secret, Nancy managed to tell Mitzeee, Jack, Frankie AND Cindy within a couple of days. Oops!

Sadly, Dancy's baby dream was not to be. Nancy suffered a miscarriage and they were devastated, Darren briefly moving out when Nancy insisted that they try for another baby straight away. Thankfully they reconciled and our hearts go out to them as they try to come to terms with what happened and rebuild their life together.
