Back in July 2009, Girls Aloud announced that they were taking a year off to concentrate on solo projects. Tremors were felt reverberating around the pop world. "Who's gonna fill our girl group void?" said many a pop observer. Solution: The Saturdays. That's who.
The Saturdays, arguably formed from the ashes of S Club 8 (Frankie and Rochelle being one-time members), are unarguably an unashamedly brilliant all-dancing, all-sexy, pop quintet.
After scoring an impressive four top ten hits from their debut album 'Chasing Lights', the girls have made a return with their second album 'Wordshaker', which, at this rate, may have Girls Aloud rethinking their sabbatical. Who knows, when The Aloud eventually do return, the pop throne they left may no longer be theirs...

The name may seem familiar to you - and no, he wasn't your geography teacher back in the day - because you’ve heard his number two smash 'Supernova'. Still don't know who we mean? Yeah, you do. It's the song by that blonde guy with Kanye West's robotic vocoder all over it. You got it? Yeah, you have...
Mr Hudson (formerly Mr Hudson & The Library) tragically lost his library when some people failed to return overdue books and public funding was cut. Ok, so that's not strictly true, what is true though is that a couple of his band members left, so Mr Hudson thought he'd change the name. And with the name change came a change in fortunes.
Mr Hudson hooked up with Kanye West and hasn't looked back. Award winning speech interrupter extraordinaire, Kanye, encouraged Hudson to be the popstar he is today. With Mr Hudson's second album nearly upon us, will Kanye West be right in saying "he could be bigger than me"?

Chipmunk is the best hip-hop act in the world. That's not speculation, that's just 2009 MOBO awards fact. At 18 years old Chipmunk is already deemed better than established acts such as Kanye West, Eminem and Dizzee Rascal.
Like that there Dizzee Rascal, Chipmunk worked his way up through the London grime scene. When he was just 14 years old, Chipmunk's local youth club encouraged him to MC - our youth club simply encouraged us to eat Chewitts and drink Panda shandy!
Chipmunk then went on to join Shoddy Crew and then, latterly, Circular Movements. Underground radio stations gave Mr Munk's talents more exposure then ever before and it wasn't long before Chipmunk went solo. With his third single, 'Diamond Rings', Chipmunk cracked the top ten.
