Calvin Harris is so popular these days that on a Sunday evening, when the rest of us are getting stuck into a back-to-back Come Dine With Me marathon, he casually performs in front 70 odd thousand people at Wembley Stadium all in the name of half-time NFL entertainment. In fact, Calvin works so damn hard he probably even sees that as procrastination.
It's this hard working ethic that's transformed Calvin from a man who less than ten years ago was making demos in his bedroom to a man who can now afford to pass up the opportunity to work with Lady Gaga. With a number one album and two number one singles in his arsenal, Calvin is a much sought after man.
Having previously lent a helping hand to Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Kylie Minogue, and, of course, Dizzee Rascal, Calvin will finally receive some home help himself. And donning the home helper's sexy grey uniform before popping round to Calvin's humble abode to remix Harris' next single, 'Flashback', is none other than fellow number one-r David Guetta. Number-one-me-do-times!
Crowded House once sang (give or take), "Everywhere you go, always take Daniel Merriweather with you". And those entirely inaccurate lyrics are words that uber-producer/popstar Mark Ronson holds dear.
Like some sort of musical Fagan, Ronson found Merriweather feeding off scraps in the Australian pop charts before putting Daniel under his wing and featuring him on his debut album. Ronson then unleashed Merriweather on the UK charts after pickpocketing a version of The Smiths' 'Stop Me'.
From here, Daniel left the Ronson nest and decided to go it alone releasing top ten album Love & War. He's not done too bad for himself either, getting two top ten singles ('Change' and 'Red'), but we hear Mark misses him ever so much.
Master Shortie? Someone's telling porkies! He's not a shortie. In fact, he's fairly tall. However, he is a master... A master of indie/rap pioneering and, most importantly, a master of the moustache. Check out the bad boy under his nose!
Aside from facial hair, young Shortie pants has been tipped as one of 2009's ones to watch alongside Little Boots, Lady GaGa and Florence and the Machine by the oracle of music predictions, the 'BBC Sound of...' list. Yep, things are quite different to how they used to be when only a few years ago, Shortie, a former Brit School attendee, was playing Simba in a West End production of The Lion King.
Master Shortie has since left the boards behind him, but by all accounts he can occasionally be heard to recreate scenes from The Lion King when supporting the likes of Li'l Wayne and creating his own trainers.
Master Shortie is bringing back the moustache. He tells me as much right here...
