Calvin Harris Created Disco (And A Jam Sandwich)

8_510

Hi Calvin, out of interest, were you ready for this weekend?

Yes. We've just started our tour and we were prepared. We've done three days of intense rehearsals. I'm a very intense guy.

I see you're not alone today. It appears you like collaborating. Any future collaborations on the cards? Would you now like to take up the Lady GaGa offer you passed on last year?

The artist wasn't the problem - it was the song her people sent over. It needed additional production. The song wasn't a great one though. I was just one of many people that was sent the song. I love Lady Gaga though, she's amazing.

Would you write for her?

I'm not ready yet. She's works with the best of the best of the best.

Aren't you one of the best?

No.

But you've worked with Kylie and she's one of the best?

She is. She's one of the best in the world, but I'm not proven. I need to work much harder.

Are you saying you don’t work hard, Calvin?

I... er... one step at a time.

Calvin, we all know you like black girls, you like white girls, you like Asian girls, you like mixed race girls, you like Spanish girls, you like Italian girls, you like French girls, you like Scandinavian girls, you like tall girls, you like short girls, you like brown hair girls, you like blonde hair girls, you like big girls, you like skinny girls, you like carrying a little bitty weight girls, but which Hollyoaks girls do you like?

(Sigh) I've not seen it for about two years. I used to like Lisa (Gemma Atkinson), but now she appears in Nuts magazine and it’s put me off her. I'm more attracted to the personality of a lady.

And that, Calvin, is what makes you a heartthrob...
If a Hollybabe took up your offer to "dance wiv" you, what dance would you perform?

The rhumba. There's a lot of passion in that dance.

In your hit 'Acceptable In The 80s' you sing: "I've got love for you if you were born in the 80s". Now Calvin, a lot of your fans won't have been born in the 80s. So what have you got for them?

Happy music. Dancing happy vibes.

Not love?

Love and peace.

So there is love for people who weren't born in the 80s?

Of course. There's love for everybody.

This probably should have been made clearer in the song.
And finally, we all know you created disco, but that's old news. What have you created recently?

I made a jam and banana sandwich the other day.

It always comes back to jam "wiv" you, Calvin.

I've got a lot of left over jam from regional radio stations. They've given me their own branded jam, so I've been working my way through that.

Is that your favourite of the conserves?

What? Regional radio jam? Yeah! It's extra cesty.
