Chipmunk's Critical Thinking...

In your press release it says you're "just doing what the average kid is doing". Chipmunk, what is the average kid doing?

The average kid is living life and having fun, you know. I write a rap every now and then, but, other than that, I'm cool.

You got your A-Levels results in August and passed in Critical Thinking, Drama and Sociology. Chipmunk, what sort of a subject is critical thinking?

It's a madness! It's the study of articles and flaws and stuff like that. It's really intense. I got a B, C and a D in my A-levels. The D was in critical thinking and I was extremely happy with it because it was a pass and I only went to about half my classes due to my music career and now I'm full on music.

Your album's a "mixture of grime, R&B, electro and pop", but Chipmunk, if you had to choose one of these music genres to stick with what would it be?

Pop because pop is short for popular music and I'm just trying to be popular. I haven't really been affiliated to a genre over the past 12 months because the versatility and ability to execute your rhymes over any BPM is what makes you different from any artists. That's where I'm at.

You had a number 6 smash with 'Diamond Rings'. Which Hollybabe would you give your diamond rings to?

I'll have to think about that one. I do watch the show though. When I'm at home I’ll watch it with my mum.

You're currently on tour with Tinchy Stryder. What's Mr Stryder's worst habit?

Drinking!

In your latest single 'Oopsy Daisy' you name check The Saturdays song 'Issues'. Big Saturdays fan?

You know what, when I wrote the track I had them in mind to do the female vocals and they loved it, but their single was due to come out at the same time, so it would have messed up their schedule. I couldn't get someone to do the demo as well as the demo was, so because I couldn't get The Saturdays to do it I stuck with the original vocalist Miss Dee who has an amazing voice.

And finally, I've seen you freestyle. You're very good. Can you freestlye us a rap about Hollyoaks please?

Believe in god 'cause I’m a holy bro/holy show/cross my skin and I'm a holy woe/tune into Hollyoaks/foe sho!

Freestlyin' Chipmunk is in our Episode One Gallery. Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-check it out!
