A few quotes...
The Sunday Times say "The next big thing"
NME: "The next biggest girl band in the universe"
So, who's the current biggest girl band in the universe and when do you plan on overthrowing them?
Britt: I think it's Girls Aloud. I know they're not around much at the moment, but it's still them.
Frankee: Yeah, Girls Aloud are taking a break, but when you're that big you can afford to take a break.
I'm thinking it's a battle between you, The Saturdays and Sugababes to overthrow them then...
Frankee: ... Yes! But we are very different to all of them at the end of the day.
Britt: Yeah, because we're a duo. We don't have any rivalry towards those girls - we want everyone to do well!
You must hate someone!?
Britt: No!
Aw! ... The Guardian say you "encourage a productive dialogue between the art world and the chart world". What does that even mean?
Frankee: I haven't got a clue!
Britt: Maybe it's the way that we dress or the way that we are.
Frankee: We're edgy!
Britt: When we dance we've got our own little signature moves.
Have you got an album name yet? Isn't it supposed to be out soon?
Frankee: No. The album release has been pushed back.
Britt: Yeah, we're going to release a third single before the album comes out, so the Mini Viva introduction's complete.
I've heard that one of you is referred to as Mini one is referred to as Viva. Was that an afterthought after you got the name for the duo?
Britt: No, that's how we got the band's name.
Frankee: When I first met Britt, well, she's really quirky and she's like Minnie Mouse, so she became Mini...
Britt: ... And Frankee's Viva because, look at her, she's vivacious.
Frankee: When we were struggling for a name we just put the two names together.
Frankee, you're from Lancashire. Britt, you're from Newcastle. Where did you meet each other?
Britt: We met through Xenomania our production label. They've worked with Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Gabriella Cilmi.
Frankee: Loads!
How did you get noticed by Xenomania in the first place?
Frankee: It was a scouting session. It was like an audition, but not in an X-Factor style. They liked us both as individuals. They were going to put a girl band together, but we weren't really suitable for the girl band thing and then they decided to put us together as a duo because we got on really well.
Do you think it's a northern thing?
(In unison): Yeah!
Britt, do you ever eat the North-Eastern delicacy that is pease pudding?
Britt: No, I don't like it, but I do like saveloy dip, which is like a sausage in a bun that you dip in gravy.
That'd be nice in these winter months. Perhaps you can ask for that on your rider? Actually, what have you got on your rider?
Britt: Not much. It'd be nice to have a little dog or something!
Are you Hollyoaks fans?
Britt: Yeah!
Frankee: God yeah! We don't have as much time to watch it as we used to, but we catch up on Sundays.
Britt: It's weird being here on the Hollyoaks set. We met Little Tom before! He's great.
If you were to star in Hollyoaks, which family would you like to be a part of?
Frankee: I'd like to be in the McQueen family! I think it'd be fun. They'd always be a drama going on.
Britt: I'd like to be in the McQueen family too!
What’s next for you guys?
Frankee: The second single, 'I Wish', and finishing off the album.
Britt: We're working really hard over Christmas too. We've got loads of Christmas balls to perform at and we're going to Manchester, Leeds Newcastle and Glasgow to turn on the Christmas lights.
Frankee: That'll be a new experience for us!
What were you doing this time last year?
Britt: We were doing really grotty gigs in front of rockers and old guys just to get ourselves out there.
Frankee: It's mad to think back to October 2008 when we did our first gig to where we are now. Mad!
The girls throw some quite wicked shapes and meet a local celeb in the Episode Six Gallery!
