During the Swedish Elvis' two song set in Hollyoaks Village, Hollie-Jay Bowes (Michaela) mouthed something that, whilst not completely politically correct, pretty much summed up Basshunter – "mental". There aren't many chart-topping acts who would warm up the crowd with Arnold Schwarzenegger impressions - in fact, there's none! – but it's these madcap ways combined with stomping Eurodance hits, like new single 'I Promised Myself', that make Basshunter so unique.
Basshunter sent the crowd into a frenzy, but is it any wonder when he was backed by four scantily clad lovelies who braved the cold to reveal pretty much everything? 'Now You're Gone', like some sort of 'Angels' for the late noughties, provoked the audience to sing the lyrics of lost love right back at him. A true entertainer.
Last time Chipmunk was on The Hollyoaks Music Show with Matalan.co.uk, the 2009 MOBO best hip-hop act in the world award winner had just released 'Oopsy Daisy' and what do you know? A few days later 'Oopsy Daisy' was number one in the charts. Coincidence? No! Well... maybe.
This time, Chip Diddy Chipmunk came back to Hollyoaks with a mate, Talay Riley, to strut through Chip's latest ditty, 'Look For Me', in the bizarre setting of the Drive'N'Buy. Now, there have been a few/many, many surreal moments on the show this series, but none more so than the sight of a DJ performing behind the Drive'N'Buy till while Little Tom looked on dressed as N-Dubz's Dappy!
Back in September 2009 things were grim. The nation was fighting an unrelenting battle with recession and workforces were rapidly demising due to the ever increasing 'Swine Flu sickie'. However, one man appeared through Britain's doom and gloom, one man with a name similar to that of a Hollywood actor, one man armed with nothing but a smile on his face and a song. This man was Taio Cruz that song was 'Break Your Heart'. That song was number one for three weeks.
Taio had originally planned to give 'Break Your Heart' to Cheryl Cole, but at the last minute he decided against it, which, in hindsight, was a very wise decision indeed! Not only did it make him a load of money, but it gave viewers of The Hollyoaks Music Show with Matalan.co.uk the pleasure of seeing Mr Cruz performing the song on Il Gnosh patio. Woo!
