Any signs that Little Boots is getting too big for her BOOTS (guffaw!) quickly evaporated when she was confirmed to play on The Hollyoaks Music Show with Matalan.co.uk. The petite peroxide blonde lass from Blackpool took to the Hollyoaks village stage, like some sort of Theresa McQueen look-a-like, with storm clouds gathering, but what happened next wasn't a storm, no! It was an 'Earthquake'... or rather a performance of her latest single, 'Earthquake'.
The Barbarella styled Boots belted out her forthcoming electro-pop hit and even got a very aggressive hug from host Rick Edwards for her efforts. Aw! Lil' Boots latterly treated the audience to her top ten triumph, 'Remedy', which, incidentally, is also the official song for the 'Free Zoe Carpenter' campaign. Don't ask.
Avid viewers of The Hollyoaks Music Show with Matalan.co.uk will have seen young Chip perform in MOBS back in episode one and now he's at it again. Presumably, he just can’t get enough of their smoothies.
Back to see Chipmunk was a Kanye-clad Lil' Tom and a red/purple/indigo haired Hollie-Jay (Michaela McQueen). They weren't disappointed, as Chipmunk gave us a rendition of his second ever single, 'Chip Diddy Chip'. It's a funky hip-pop kind of song that contains the line: "I ain't stupid – you can count my As." Now, I'm not for one minute doubting Chipmunk's intelligence, but Chipmunk, didn't you tell me you didn't get any As in your A-levels?
Their name may suggest that they might not be able to speak decent French (or English for that matter!), but what they can do well is to get the customers of a soap opera's café/restaurant up and grooving like a good 'un! Belting out debut single 'Dance The Way I Feel', the 80s electro influenced ensemble, brought customers to the eatery like never before.
Poor Zoe, who must have been on day release from her prison stretch, was forced to take in the Camden boys beats from an obscured view such was the demand to the see the much hyped group. I feel gutted for Zoe because she missed what may go down as one of the spectacles of 2009 – Lil' Tom dressed as Mika, dancing hand in hand with an Ou Est singer. Brilliant!
