It's not unusual to see five steaming hotties in Hollyoaks village. Why, you can see the McQueen girls strutting their stuff outside Drive'n'Buy on any given weekday, but it's not often you see Myra & co. performing the finest tunes pop has to offer. No, The Hollyoaks Music Show with Matalan.co.uk gave that job to The "bare legs, bare legs, black tights, bare legs, black trousered" Saturdays.
The lovely ladies gyrated their hips through the top 5 hi-energy, pop-rock rousing 'Forever Is Over', which, as Rick Edwards informed us, was written by Busted's James Bourne (you know, the one who's not in Fightstar or Matt Willis). The quality quintet then went onto sing the title track from their second long-player, 'Wordshaker', a grinding bassline, electro-pop stomper that reminded us of 'Everybody (Backstreet's Back)' – this is no bad thing! In fact, judging by the shapes they were throwing, Jenny Metcalfe (Mercedes) and Andy Moss (Rhys) certainly agreed.
There are many people on this planet that would claim to be the best hip-hop act in the world, but have they actually had this verified by the MOBOs? And, more importantly, have they played Hollyoaks' MOBS? No, unless, of course, they're Chipmunk.
Mr Munk, as he told us he maybe called in future, treated us to his chart topping hit 'Oopsy Daisy'. In a cruel twist of fate, the song makes reference to The Saturdays and it was this song that kept The Saturdays from the number one spot. Chipmunk wasn't boasting or owt, no he was probably too distracted by the sight of an on looking Li'l Ellis/Li'l Tom dressed up like Kanye West!
Adding a bit of spice to the Il Gnosh menu was Mr Hudson. His distinctive brand of electro-pop certainly brought the punters in. Actually, it was probably the busiest the restaurant had been since Olivia and Jessica staged a naked protest there.
Hollie-Jay Bowes (Michaela) had to resort to her tiptoes to even catch a glimpse of Hudson, as he effortlessly powered his way through his new single 'White Lies' with charm and panache.
