Picture this... Tinchy Stryder's a mere ten years old. He's in his bedroom, probably playing Strider, the arcade game from which he got his name. Hollyoaks is in its sophomore year and dance group Olive have got to number one with 'You're Not Alone'. Ten years later and Tinchy's out of his bedroom, he's all grown-up, he's sampled said chart-topping hit, and is now performing it on the set of Hollyoaks. Life's a bit weird isn't it?
The "top East London writer man" also got Emma Rigby (Hannah), Jorgie Porter (Theresa), ATD (Darren) Kieron Richardson (Ste) and Bronaugh Waugh (Cheryl) boogling away when he caught them in a web "like Spiderman" with one of his oldies, 'Stryderman'. Nb. There was no Green Goblin in sight.
Let's get this out the way - Paloma Faith is as mad as a box of frogs. I've no idea why a box of frogs is deemed "mad", but that's besides the point. Ms Faith is like the eccentric auntie who you've never had. She's a bit wacky, but very loving all the same. This kooky attitude certainly comes to the fore in her new single 'Upside Down'.
The former magician's assistant mustered up a magical MOBS performance of the1930s cabaret styled song, which was made all the more impressive by virtue of the fact that she was wearing an Indian headdress. Why did she don this? Three words: Box of frogs.
The last time there was a horn section in Il Gnosh, Cindy was flashing a pair of suspenders, but this time round there was no saucy lingerie on show, just some good time vibes courtesy of Paolo Nutini.
Paolo, and his band of merry men (a couple of whom looked oddly like Howard Moon from The Mighty Boosh), treated the crowd to a sterling performance of 'Pencil Full of Lead'. 'PFoL', as we (and no-one else) like to call it, is a song taken from 'Sunny Side Up', the third biggest selling album of 2009. And that, ladies and gents, is a fact.
