How to create completely brilliant games ideas

Let's get a bit more analytical

All games have a theme (let's say, space) and a game mechanic (shooting). So what can we get if we jumble all that up?

Poem Puzzle - displays a poem on the screen with a word missing - can you guess what it is? Might be really nice to record what people type and display stuff like "1% thought, 'I wandered as lonely as a leopard.'

Tea Sokoban - shunt the teabag into the cup to make a lovely cup of tea.

I am surprised Volfied isn't mentioned in the classics. I never got bored playing that game.

A game I could play forever is volfied. I'm surprised it's not considered one of the great classics.

The greatest videogame is Kaboom! Atari 2600. A paddle game... simple & fun. Bomber on wall drops bombs which you have to catch. You start with three buckets, and lose them from bottom up. http://www.consoleclassix.com/info_img/Kaboom_2600_ScreenShot
