He’s known as Skills – because he’s a demon on the basketball court. But there’s more to Antwon Taylor than dribbling and shooting. Just like Lucas, Skills comes from a poor background and learnt his trade on the downmarket River Court. They occasionally clash, with Skills believing he’s losing his old friend to his new, rich Tree Hill pals.
But while he gave Lucas grief about his new life – Skills was still happy enough to hook up with a cheerleader – Bevin. But at some point in the ‘missing years’ he and Bevin parted ways acrimoniously. Skills eventually joined the Ravens, so this basketballing phenomenon could express himself on a competitive level. Coach Whitey discovered that this street kid had great sporting chemistry with the privileged Nathan, and the two of them were soon leading the Ravens to victory. This leads to him receiving a basketball scholarship.
Series 5 sees Skills living with Mouth, Junk and Fergie. He’s an assistant coach for the Tree Hill Ravens, joining Lucas on the staff. He also likes hanging out with Nathan and Haley’s son Jamie Scott and is mortified when he comes into harm. But his love-life takes an unusual twist when he hooks up with Deb, causing friction with Nathan which eventually causes the relationship to disintergrate.
