As Peyton finally decides on a date for their wedding, Lucas heads off to New York to see his publisher Lindsey who still doesn't know about the engagement. Nathan receives an offer from a pro basketball team, much to the excitement of Haley and Jamie. But Nathan is disappointed that the job they offer isn't the one he wants.
Haley unwittingly puts Jamie's life in peril, when she is lured to Carrie's house, where Dan is being held captive. Carrie almost has her hands on Jamie, until he is saved by an unusual source.
Peyton is still intrigued by her new recording artist Mick Wolf and wants to know everything he knows about her parents, but Mick is vague about details. She invites his for dinner with herself and Lucas, but neither of them turn up. Meanwhile, Brooke is still dealing with the loss of her clothing empire and has a run-in with Sam.
