Four years have passed since we last saw the inhabitants of Tree Hill. Lucas is now coaching the Ravens and is a successful writer. His half-brother Nathan is raising his child with Haley, but an accident has curtailed his ambitions, while Haley is back at Tree Hill High, this time as a teacher.
Brooke and Peyton have both had differing experiences away from Tree Hill. Brooke had great success and moved to New York, while Peyton had had middling success in Los Angeles. Both decide they were at their happiest in their hometown and move back.
But the return of these old faces soon causes tension amongst the old friends as old passions are rekindled and new rivalries emerge. Can the old friends survive these new dramas and make a successful life for themselves and their families in Tree Hill.
