A Yale Graduate who grew up in Fort Lauderdale, she gives up her journalism career in New York after a series of disasters and returns to South Florida and Palm Beach in particular to assume the role of tutor to the rich Baker twins. Her quirky and educationally inquisitive nature is in stark contrast to the sophisticated, spoiled and rich life that the Baker sisters live and makes it increasingly difficult for Megan to do her job and actually teach them anything.
As a child, she was abandoned by her mother and she and her sister Lily were left in the hands of their alcoholic father. Megan buried herself in school work and cut off contact with her family after she went to Yale. Now her old family, and old flames, start to emerge from the woodwork and complicate her life further.
