It's Halloween night - the one night of the year the whole force dreads. Garcia and Jones visit a cemetery and try to get a couple of creepy kids in hockey masks to disperse. Soon they're surrounded by a whole bunch of kids who start to egg them.
At the morning briefing, the old Sheriff tells them a Halloween tale about how he lost his hand one year after attending a domestic disturbance. Turns out he does it every year - the previous Halloween it had been a leg he had lost. Trudy, just like the previous 8 years, has been tricked into wearing a costume. She's dressed as a cat.
Jones and Garcia drop in on Titi, who has been trick or treating. As usual she steals Garcia's baton and then humps Jone's leg. Trudy is camped out on her lawn waiting for the kid's to steal her cat, as they do every year. She thinks she's spotted them - but it turns out to be Dangle and Junior. While she chases the suspected miscreants, they toilet paper her house then Junior steals her cat.
Clemmie visits some goths who are vandalising an alleyway. She teaches them the true meaning of Halloween - which is Wicca - and then shows them how to cast a revenge spell. Garcia and Jones bust a guy who has set up a horror house, but it's just an excuse to grope women. Williams spots a guy who is trying to perform the old burning paper bag of poop trick. She lets him go and he proceeds to torch her car.
Dangle and Jones decide to pull the ultimate Halloween trick. They pretend Jones has been shot outside a liquor store. The distressed deputies meet at a bar and watch a video of Jones' last wishes - which reveals lots of embarrassing facts about everyone before he gets to the point. They visit his body in the morgue. Jones scares them to death when he reveals he's not actually dead. They're mad but insist they repeat the trick on Trudy. They do, but a startled Trudy takes out a gun and starts shooting indiscriminately.
