After the local mayor's son blows off his thumb with some illegal fireworks, the force are asked to crack down on the problem. Jones and Garcia discover a few fireworks in the back of a car driven by a stoned hippy. The least appropriate person who should pose as a prostitute, Trudy Wiegel, goes undercover but fails to pick up any prospective 'johns' due to her weird appearance. When Clemmie steps in to help her with her look, finally a man stops but picks up the wrong officer, and Clemmie leaves with the gentleman.

Dangle tries to help a man find his missing dog. The two men soon begin to flirt and Dangle allows him to play with his police equipment. Sadly, the man disables Dangle with his pepper spray and then steals his wallet. Johnson and Williams respond to a call at a trailer park, but the suspect manages to steal their squad car. They decide to claim that the man tried to assault them and that's how he got their car. The problem is that the cameraman has proof that this didn't happen, so they now have to chase the show's crew to get the incriminating tape.

Eventually Garcia and Jones do find a massive amount of illegal fireworks in an ice-cream van out in the desert. All the officer's descend to celebrate the bust, but end up getting over-excited and blowing up the truck and their evidence.
