The Feds descend on Reno after a body is found and a serial killer is thought to be the perpetrator. Dangle is desperate for the force to behave in front of the FBI - but the Feds don't return the respect. They move the officers away from anywhere near the crime scene and get them to deliver coffee.
To pass the time - the force decides to destroy the current microwave in order to get a new one from head office. After various metallic objects fail to break the machine, Junior tosses a grenade inside. A robbery suspect almost escapes after Garcia believes his story of the real robbers having just left, even though he's holding cash and a gun. Jones is not so gullible and brings him in.
Trudy meets and takes a shine to a victim who claims to have had his lolly stolen. She even visits the cemetery to tell her mom about the new guy and to get her permission to date him. Meanwhile Jones visits a school to give a talk about guns. As he feels its useless trying to stop kids using guns, he demonstrates how to fire them correctly.
Despite the force playing around with the corpse and mugging for the press cameras - the Feds break the case and find the killer named the Junk Yard Dog. The Reno cops think its classy to offer the FBI some jelly shots to celebrate the case, while the Feds offer the officers some champagne as reward.
