There's an emergency services battle as the Reno police team and the local firefighters decide to have their relevant charity events on the same day and the cops aren't selling as many tickets as their rivals.
Dangle and Clemmie visit fire station to see if they'll move the date of their charity Pancake Dinner. But the firefighters are raising money for disabled children while the cops are raising money for themselves - so there's a stand-off. Things get worse as the deputies visit sick kids in the hospital - the kids don't seem too impressed until the firefighters arrive. Then they seem happy.
Dangle and Junior visit their old delinquent friend Andrew, who refuses to take his Christmas decorations down. They eventually use the decorations against him. The cops decide to blackmail the firefighters by clamping their fire truck until they agree to change their event date. But there's trouble when there's a real fire alarm and the cops can't get the clamp off - so the firefighters have to deal with the emergency on foot.
The two units go head to head at an actual fire. Junior thinks he is a hero when he saves a dog form the fire. But he forgot a baby, who the firefighters save. Then the dog runs back into the fire. At the Policeman's Ball - no one turns up. The deputies decide to get revenge by pulling the fire alarm, but all they do is set off the sprinklers and damage their finest outfits.
